5/10The restaurant is only outside (covered terrace) and it’s not heated. It was really cold and nothing was offered like blanket, candles or other

4.5/10The best feature of this restaurant is its location. Food quality is remedial at best, the staff is polite and helpful but slow and forgetful. You can find much better nearby.

3/10Uncook fish. Then once given back to the kitchen totally forgot to give back the plate. Tasteless pastas. Big disappointment

6.5/10The linguini with meatballs was served cold. The red wine recommended by the waiter came without mentioning the steep €70 price tag; a nasty surprise at the end of our meal.

8.5/10We enjoyed the dinner and loved the ambiance. The square, with so many restaurants & bars was buzzing. For starters we had 1 x Arancini and 1 x burrata. My wife checked the Arancini was vegetarian but it was then served with meat products on the plate. The Burrata, presented on a bed of heritage tomatoes, was generous in proportion and delicious. For main we both had linguini; one with pesto, pine nuts & goats cheese, the other with meat balls. They were decent but not special; the garlic in the meat balls over-dominated. Our desserts of profiteroles and a strawberry pavlova were overlarge and overpriced. To begin ( @2015 ) the service was excellent but as the place became full it deteriorated. I waited more than 20 minutes for a cafe au lait; then an espresso was delivered.. We would return - but not on a Saturday night.

4.5/10Based on several good reviews we decided to try le Portofino to enjoy some good Italian food. What a joke! The rigatoni in my dish was to tough as to be inedible and the sausage was undercooked; it was actually pink. The waiter was kind enough to replace it with pasta and meatballs. The pasta lacked taste but the meatballs were very good. This visit was a real disappointment.

4.5/10The pasta was nice but not the best fresh pasta I've tasted, antipasti was good. However, the service is poor. It takes a long time to order and bring drinks, let alone the food. The waiter didn't bring us bread whereas other tables got complimentary bread baskets right away, some even had two baskets. When we requested bread, the waiter eventually bought it and said it was all he had left, so do not ask for more. Further, we had to ask for the bill four times, while the table next to ours had the same number of people yet got served quicker and received their bill straight away. The staff are very selective about the service they give, good service seems to be reserved for the very wealthy looking of a certain age.

8.5/10Excellent pasta dishes in a pleasant surrounding. Service very good. Particularly enjoyed the linguini cèpes prepared in the Parmesan wheel and the linguini with meatballs. Recommended.

9/10Le Portofino is a small very nice restaurant at a beautiful place with lots of option in Aix. Very attentive service with a delicious food. Definitely a must go and, if you go for dinner, try the pasta prepared inside the cheese.
