About the restaurant Le Pretexte

"A NEW LIFE - located a few meters from the Olympiades metro, in rue de Tolbiac, this typical corner bistro has been renovated very inventively. The menu took the opportunity to be rejuvenated and the cocktails to make a notable entry. Happy hour is from 5 to 8 PM.

CONTINUOUS SERVICE - At Prétexte, find sumptuous and well thought-out bistro cuisine, an inspired wine menu and a warm atmosphere. Whatever is needed to have a good time among friends or colleagues.

ENDANGERED SPECIES - The Tolbiac quarter is changing continuously. A new sign of this is the arrival of Prétexte. It is the victory of truth, goodness and amiability over the large and uniform culinary gloom."

The beef tartare was very nice but the french fries were overcooked. For dessert I had panna cotta which was too sweet for my taste. The crew was however polite and welcoming.

Un accueil agréable par un personnel sympathique. Un happy hour oú se retrouvent toutes les classes d'âge. Des plats toujours aussi appétissantsur cuisinés avec des produits de qualité. Grand choix de vins au verre, en pichet ou en bouteille. Merci à toute l'équipe.

Il y a un brunch le dimanche mais nous avons préféré prendre des plats à la carte.
Il y avait du monde mais le service était correct.
Les plats sont copieux et les frites croustillantes comme je les aime.
Les brochettes de St Jacques sont un délice, la description de la sauce m'a intriguée, au final j'ai adoré!
C'est la première fois que je voyait des morceaux de tomates servis sans la peau.
Nous y retournerons pour tester le brunch une prochaine fois car il a l'air pas mal.

Extraordinary! The best food I've ever had. We ordered the mixed plate and the entrecote, which was tender like butter, even since I ordered well done. Everything was extremely delicious, large servings and fast service. Great prices, worth every cent! We'll come back.

We went there for a brunch. To be honest, it doesn't worth its 24 euro. The choice in the buffet is really very poor. They bring you as well a plate with different hot snacks, but in general. everything was very greasy and not healthy at all. When we came, they didn't have fresh juice and the industrial orange juice they offered, was not the best quality. The only thing I realy liked was a pistachio mousse. I don't think, we come there again.

The dishes are more like from the fridge. We took 3 courses and the dessert, cheese cake(home made) turned out to be the best . The environment was not good: smoky (even the waiter didn't know where it came from, and lots of small flys!!!! Obviously they didn't clean it well! BUT, the service is good, the only positive thing :-(
