About the restaurant Le Reminet

If you take a detour from your stroll around Ile de la Cité, you will stumble upon the Parisian bistro Le Réminet, located across from Notre Dame and down the street from Saint-Michel.

Le Réminet is an experience in itself, made all the better if it's shared. In this warm and charming bistro, you have your choice between the converted cellar, ideal for romantic dinners, or the more lively main dining room with intimate tables, Baroque-era chandeliers, and large mirrors.

To cure you from the ordinary, the chef recommends a subtle dosage of traditional meets "nouvelle" cuisine.
Indulge yourself with a scallop shish kebab, tofu with black mushrooms, vermicelli soup, asparagus and mange-tout pea salad, candied lamb shoulder with Espelette pepper, coconut and green bean stew in garlic butter, or one of many other delicious dishes waiting to be discovered.

Quality seems to have gone down since the last time I dined here several years ago. Nothing memorable this time around.

Excellent all around service and food. The gentleman running the restaurant (owner?) met us at the door, sat us quickly and explained the menu. He even chose a wine for each of our dishes from entree through desert (very good choices!). We speak english, et petite Francias, and each waitstaff used a mix of languages which was also very helpful. I was pleased to see that this establishment did not allow smoking in the main dining room. I would whole heartedly recommend this establishment to everyone!

The food here is good, though its taste sometimes struggles to compare to its visual aesthetic. The "qualité-prix" or value is good if you're getting the 50% off with la fourchette, otherwise the a la carte menu is a little pricey for what it is. Most of all, this restaurant completely lacks the service necessary for what it is trying to be. Our server constantly forgot about us, we asked repeatedly for more water, and waited far too long to order. For a restaurant at this price point, none of these should be issues that arise.

Lovely atmosphere with candlelit, beautifully laid tables and warm decor. Absolutely delightful and attentive service- very patient with our large group with children. The food is French classics reinvented with a twist, and artistic presentation. Recommended without hesitation.

Great food.

We sat outside on a beautiful evening but guests from the restaurant came outside to SMOKE....and they were right in our faces,, Because they were technically outside the waiter didn't think it was necessary to ask them to move across the small side street, even though we graciously asked.

I realize Paris is a smoker's city, but when we are eating such delicious food, we don't want to taste the smoke with our meal!

We were disappointed, because the service was extremely slow. The food was delicious, but not as fantastic as the prices seemed to indicate.

We have spent the last six summers in Paris [July & August] and Le Reminet is by far our favorite restaurant. You can probably get better food elsewhere but not at the price, with the atmosphere, at the location nor with the friendly, professional service. We go at least once a week, usually at lunch but evening as well.
