About the restaurant Le Reminet

If you take a detour from your stroll around Ile de la Cité, you will stumble upon the Parisian bistro Le Réminet, located across from Notre Dame and down the street from Saint-Michel.

Le Réminet is an experience in itself, made all the better if it's shared. In this warm and charming bistro, you have your choice between the converted cellar, ideal for romantic dinners, or the more lively main dining room with intimate tables, Baroque-era chandeliers, and large mirrors.

To cure you from the ordinary, the chef recommends a subtle dosage of traditional meets "nouvelle" cuisine.
Indulge yourself with a scallop shish kebab, tofu with black mushrooms, vermicelli soup, asparagus and mange-tout pea salad, candied lamb shoulder with Espelette pepper, coconut and green bean stew in garlic butter, or one of many other delicious dishes waiting to be discovered.

Possibly the most perfect meal we've had over the past two weeks in Paris. Beautiful room, experienced service, delicious food - have the sardines and the oxtail raviole as starters. Not an "American" place - almost every table other than ours were locals and/or French-speaking visitors. The 50% discount made a dream evening affordable. We will recommend Le Reminet happily to anyone planning a visit to Paris.

An open kitchen always leads to bizarre and overly present smells. Otherwise the food was delicious and fresh, nicely presented and our waiters were cordial and willing to enhance our dining experience with every move.

Inventive cooking. Delicious combinations of flavours and a very friendly welcome. The choice of wines is also exceptional.

Charming restaurant, calm, well located. the dishes were artfully presented. The restaurant was quite full so the service was a bit chaotic. The menu advertised on the site was not what was available. The entrée of sardines tasted very fishy, not fresh and was sent back. The escargot entrèe was cold and the crisps not crisp. But the entree of cochon was delicious as was the Salmon, but the oyster on the plate also did not seem fresh.
overall, I was disappointed but I think the restaurant is worth another visit, maybe when less crowded.

We were fortunate to have a meal here on a special deal so it was cheaper than normal but we had no sense that we were treated as second best The staff were friendly and the food was wonderful Special highlights were the sardine entree and the pork and pigeon main courses Also the chocolate coque dessert was a real event We loved this restaurant It is a special place Bravo!

Awful service with a new waiter in training. It took 3 requests for a bottle of water to drink with our wine. We ordered dessert 3 separate times and the dessert they brought was not the one we ordered. Our French is poor but this went way beyond language difficulties.
The entrees were fabulous. The main course meals were average. The wait times between courses were unreasonable compared to all other Paris meals we had on this one-week trip.

The starter (marinated sardines) we shared was delicious, just as the free range chicken as main. The salmon however was not that special and lacked taste. We waited an hour for the dessert to arrive. When we asked how much longer we needed to wait, the first waiter told us ''he didn't know'' and the second waiter snorted arrogantly and said we weren't even waiting for that long (even though we had proof). Customers around us did receive the same dessert before us, even though we ordered first. An apology would have been nice. The dessert itself (ball of chocolate) was allright. Maybe the staff had a bad day, but we wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Somewhat pricey for the quality of the cuisine. Perfect location, nice atmosphere (a bit hot, should be great for winter) and very pleasant service.

It was very hot in the lower level of the restaurant. The first course appetizer (sardines) was fantastic, but the beef dish for two was very tough to eat. The service rkuined the night. We could not initially get his attention and frequently had to ask for service. The busboy kept dropping and breaking things, and brought us the incorrect dishes. We wanted more wine but never was able to order. When the check came, the waiter informed us that by making the reservation through the fork and using the 50% off discount, that we were hurting the restaurant as the fork does not pay for the discount. We felt chastised by the waiter for our reservation. Service took three hours for our table of four. We will not return.

I would not recommend this place. We had to wait a lot between one dish and the other. The chicken was not cooked enough and the waiter did not really care (he said:" That's the way our chef cooks it"). Also, my desert's dish was dirty. So, if you want pricy food with low expectations...that's the place to go!

Reminet is one of my favourite restaurants in Paris. Wonderful location , outstanding service , charming and romantic atmosphere. There's a sense of intimacy that it's usually hard to find in Paris or any other tourist locations. The food is sublime. They challenge your taste buds with creative yet very well thought combinations of flavours and yet the food still based on traditional methods of cooking. Presentation also is masterful and elegant. The staff is extremely professional and welcoming. Considering they also have a great wine and champagne list which is reasonably priced , there is really nothing bad about this place. One you would want to go back to again and again.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Service not as good as the quality of the Chef might require, but good enough. Recommended

This is a wonderful little restaurant. The menu is varied, creative, ambitious, and well-executed. The prix fixe option is a great value and a perfect way to discover the breadth of the chef's talents. Service is prompt, knowledgable and cheerful. Bring your appetite and be prepared to savor each dish, this exquisite meal is the perfect way to spend an evening with friends.

Used to be e xcellent but fare has change over the years. Many dishes now either raw or cooked rare. I had pigeon and it was bloody. The pork I enrico was fine but the blood sausage was horrible, raw like. The amuse vouch of asparagus and bacon soup was very good. Their charge CRS machine not working so we had to pay cash and thank goodness for the fort discount as it is expensive there. The waiter did welcome us s he recognized us fro prior times, plus offers us something to drink beforehand complimentary. There was a for some at nearb table and they were quite loud.. Americans. Well, we are too, but in Paris you must talk quietly. Not good manners. Beoufs! Plus they orders the lovely Laurent de bois cheese course BEFORE the plat! Not proper! Their choice, I know, but still. The banquette cushion was sagging, needed upgrading. Atmosphe very pretty. It needs some maintenance. They did call our hotel to sauna out the lack of electricity for their phone and credit card machine, so that was nice.

As others have commented, this is a slightly upscale bistro with table clothes and candle light and a great place for a romantic evening. The menu is overpriced but by booking through The Fork you are able to get up to a 50% discount on the a la carte menu which makes it a reasonable value for a nice dinner. For our plat, my wife had the pigeon that was excellent and I had the pork dish which was also excellent. We both had the creme brulee that had a subtle lime flavoring. We both thought that this dessert was excellent. The staff was efficient, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We would go to this bistro again.
