About the restaurant Le Reminet

If you take a detour from your stroll around Ile de la Cité, you will stumble upon the Parisian bistro Le Réminet, located across from Notre Dame and down the street from Saint-Michel.

Le Réminet is an experience in itself, made all the better if it's shared. In this warm and charming bistro, you have your choice between the converted cellar, ideal for romantic dinners, or the more lively main dining room with intimate tables, Baroque-era chandeliers, and large mirrors.

To cure you from the ordinary, the chef recommends a subtle dosage of traditional meets "nouvelle" cuisine.
Indulge yourself with a scallop shish kebab, tofu with black mushrooms, vermicelli soup, asparagus and mange-tout pea salad, candied lamb shoulder with Espelette pepper, coconut and green bean stew in garlic butter, or one of many other delicious dishes waiting to be discovered.

Delicious food, beautifully presented! We sat downstairs which got a bit warm. I'd suggest requesting a table on the ground floor.

Put in the basement. Very hot and stuffy and generally unpleasant. Asked if we could be put upstairs where it was cooler and were told no. Party came in after us and asked the same and were moved. We ordered a €45 bottle of white wine that was warm, took until after we’d finished our second course to bring us ice for the ice bucket. We were last here in 2015 when the restaurant was infinitely better. Disappointing.

Every time we come to Paris we come to this restaurant. I have to say it is hit-or-miss. Last time the table was great (on the first floor), the plate was great, but they ran off the oysters. This time our table is downstairs where it was so hot, and we couldn’t wait for the dinner to finish. In any case, if you go, try the creme brûlée, and it is the best I have ever had.

Fantastic food and great service. It was a hidden gem located just across river from Notre Dame Cathedral. We dined downstairs in a candle-light cave. Only issue was that it got too warm. Would recommend dinning in the main room upstairs next time we visit Le Reminet.

We have had two dinners and one lunch here in the past two weeks. The food was exceptional each time, in fact the best we have found so far on this trip. Lunch and weekday dinners are quiet and romantic and the service is very attentive. A busy Saturday night can be a bit loud and the service a bit slower. Overall we would recommend this restaurant highly.

We had an excellent dinner of seared tuna which was paired with asparagus and a truffle crumble-what a great combination. I would recommend Le Reminet for dinner. We were early, so it was quiet, but not a lot of atmosphere yet.

We have eaten lunch and dinner at Le Reminet this past week and we plan to return as often as we can in our next few days in Paris. The food is exceptional and there are many wines on their list that are available by the glass. We received very friendly and useful advice from the waiters and have discovered several superb new wines. This is a very small unpretentious restaurant but if you are out for fabulous food, top notch wines and friendly, efficient service; we think you will find this spot hard to beat.
