Opened a little more than a year ago, the Royal China is one of the few places in Paris with 100% home-made dim sum. They also make their own rice noodles. You can see them made from scratch in the open kitchen when you enter the restaurant, and they certainly disappoint.

The owner is very friendly and always happy to share about the process and how she creates her recipe. The classics are here, but she has also tried to innovate with personal creations like the vegetarian one, which looks like a tiny stuffed bok choi (and is stuffed with seasonal vegetables), or the chicken-lemongrass xiaolongbao.

Worth noting, some of her dim sum are poultry or chicken-shrimp only.

Great Chinese food, homemade and good quality. Dim sum are authentic and quite similar to what you get in Hong Kong. Noodles are delicious.

New Chinese restaurant on Rue Beaubourg. I have been patronizing le Royal China since its opening in October. A perfectly-pitched menu, booming with robust and memorable recipes. The mains are spicy, varied and stirringly original, and at the same time wholesome, healthy and down-to-earth. You can tell by the texture – the crunch of the vegetables and the butteriness of the fish – that the ingredients are fresh. Cannot recommend highly enough.
