I had escargot and the goose leg. This is the first time I’ve every had goose but I must say it was delicious. The dessert was a upside down apple turnover. It was good but not nearly as sweet as in the USA. Very enjoyable meal.
Lovely place in Paris, great food, great service... price for value... not to be missed!
Very good & very kind !!
The restaurant was live and buzzy. Great atmosphere and the food was superb. The waiting staff were so nice and friendly and we had a wonderful evening.
The staff were so nice and friendly even for foreigners. The dishes were so good.
We love it!
It was an unexpected pleasure, very professional staff with a sense of fun. very good quality ingredients very well cooked - well selected wine list with natural and organic selection, all great producers. We were staying in the neighbourhood, but would definitely travel to it next time. loved it.
this cozy little restaurant was full of friendly french atmosphere . the server was so nice and kind. we were pretty big group, 8people. but really enjoyed all dishes we order and good wine selection. one thing they are missing is very small beer selection which is only two kinds of beer. but i strongly recommend this restaurant.
Lovely little restaurant! I had the duck and my husband had the ravioli and we both loved our dishes. Creme brûlée was amazing as well. Quaint little restaurant with amazing ambiance would absolutely recommend a reservation
At 5pm we made a reservation for 8pm that night. Really enjoyed our meal, served by a very nice, efficient woman. It was around the block from our hotel and was the perfect evening meal for tired tourists.
Very cozy French restaurant in the 8th . I went for dinner and went for the special which was a substantial hearty duck dish . I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish it , but it was very good and surprisingly, not that heavy . I felt good and satiated , the recommended wine went well. Service very attentive. I got a nice table , the restaurant has a rustic feel, but the dishes are a contemporary take on French cuisine done well
It was a great experience. Despite being close to one of the main tourist spots in Paris, it its frequented by locals, and has a pretty good level of service. The food tastes really well, although without much variety.
The food are very delicious. We really enjoy it.
Convivial atmosphere, friendly staff and straightforward, tasty plates of food
Lovely small restaurant with friendly and efficient staff. Food was delicious. We’ll return and happily recommend it too. The truffle pasta was the pick of our meals.
We are a group of 4 from the US. The staff at Le Sens Unique were very welcoming, Jennie was adorable and very helpful and engaging. The food was excellent and prepared perfectly. Be aware, steak is served med-rare, which is more like rare in the states. That is the only way they serve it and it was excellent. You don't like rare, order something else. I had a special which was duck leg. It was delicious! The restaurant is small and cozy. Perfect spot!
I expect this review will get buried quickly with other reviews but I feel compelled to explain our experience. I had the honor of working closely with Chef Michel Richard (RIP Michel) at our combined hotel and Restaurant Citronelle in Santa Barbara for nearly 6 years. It was a French restaurant rated by Condé Nast as “one of the 6 restaurants in the US with perfect food” and Michel would on occasion invite Julia Child, who lived locally at the end of her life, to cook with him in the kitchen. He liked working with me because I had a “typical American palate” which he utilized to help create inventive new dishes that customers would love. Rarely, we would get a guest dine with us who wanted a steak well done. Of course he preferred to cook the steak “his way” but his and our ultimate joy was seeing a guest lick their fingers at the end of a meal, leave happy and return. I am still a Hotel General Manager working for a Hilton family hotel. Yesterday after traveling from the US to visit Europe for the first time we chose Le Sens Unique to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it ended abruptly shameful and embarrassing for us. We looked at 100’s to dine at and chose Le Sens because of the reviews, proximity to our hotel and menu. We wanted steak and I wanted a classic French experience. After ordering our wine, it took me some time to decide what I wanted to start. First it was the Camembert cheese then I was going to have the snails and we both wanted the entrecôte steak. I ordered my steak medium and my husband ordered his well done to which our server said “no, I can’t do that I can cook it medium” with a smile on her face she refused. I thought she was joking and I asked her if she was joking and she said “no, I can’t cook it well done I can cook it medium.” She offered him something different on the menu but he wanted steak. Within minutes I could here a buzz around the restaurant people talking about us and she came back and offered to bring the invoice for our wine and I said yes. When she returned she once again said I’m sorry I can only cook it medium. We left feeling disgraced, our first experience in France and sadly it will leave a lasting impression. We found another restaurant who would prepare his steak the way he wanted and the service was perfect. Le Sens Unique May not want our business and I certainly do not want their food. I’ll tell everyone about this and never return.
Presentation of the food was nice however food itself was too oily. The taste was good but this oil was everywhere. You were not able to take even a bite that was not in oil. My fish was also slightly red on the top - but I don’t know if it was not well cooked or it has to be like this. But again the taste was good but they have to reduce amount of oil they are using! The “funny” part was also when my bf wanted to order goose and the waitress told they don’t have it but he can take a duck as it is almost the same. We were wondering why if it is the same, they are offering two different dishes.
The food was very good, but the service was only so-so. Plan on crowding in ... which was fine with us, but I know some would be bothered by such togetherness. I would certainly go back, which is the ultimate test, right?
