About the restaurant Le Train Bleu

"HISTORICAL MONUMENT - and what if you were to give yourself the sumptuous setting of the Train Bleu? Dazzling, stunning, to each their words... The stairs, gilding, woodwork, neoclassical frescoes; this place is unique. And in addition, it straddles the platforms of the Gare de Lyon in Paris (1st floor).

LUXURY AND TRADITION - The cuisine of the Train Bleu is in the image of its interior: luxurious and refined, with beautiful products and unrivalled know-how. Among the chef's suggestions: leg of roasted lamb or the famous Foyot veal chop.

A NEW DESTINATION - All of summer 2014, restoration and modernisation works took place in this mythical restaurant. So it's a whole new Train Bleu, which has opened its doors: frescoes and cleaned paintings, stucco and gilding renovated, art furniture and tableware transformed, reinvented lounges, updated menus... A brand new Train Bleu to see and enjoy!"

The atmosphere of the great hall with its lavish decoration is very special and a real experience.
If seated nicely you could have a view on the trains or to the Place Louis-Armand.
Allthough we reserved a month before and a lot of nice tables were and stayed free, the strict Madame at the reception was not very flexible and charming and only left us the choice to sit either in front of the noisy kitchen door or the service counters.
Food and wine were of good quality, the timing of the service was perfect and our servants were very friendly and polite.

A well known secret of a Parisien establishment. Was discovered in the Mr. Bean film few years ago and we had to check it out. Since then it became a must with friends and family. If you look to have a french cuisine experience with an atmosphere of a voyage - this is the place to go.
