About the restaurant Les 5 Sens

Great atmosphere and very French cuisine. Presentation was beautiful. I had never had Monk Fish and had I seen the fish fresh caught I would have changed my mind. However, everything was delicious. Our friends ordered the vegetable sorbet and it was very delightful. Recommend this experience!

the foie gras, oxtail ravioli, cassoulet and banoffee dessert were good. The pheasant was okay - it was a bit tough and the cheese course was normal. I should've went with another dessert course. I loved the signature bread they served with the butter with orange zest and egg mousse with pine nuts!

Wonderful evening with friends. Sat outside in the courtyard. Very helpful waitress who spoke enough English.

Great little find in Avignon. You're right in the middle of the old town but tucked away in a small courtyard, so you can enjoy the beautiful old town without rowdy tourist groups looking at your plate all the time. The food was great (though my favourite starter was out; you get that with the fresh stuff, I suppose). No suffering though: the foie gras that replaced it was marvellous and came with a few add-ons (like a small brioche bun with warm onion relish and a piece of foie gras - heavenly).

The only criticism would be a slightly sluggish service for this type of restaurant. However, I should say we sat outside (on our request; heck, it was a balmy summer night) and were at the very end, so that might have had to do with it. But it was still very, very worthwhile! :)

This was our second dinner at Les Cinq Sens, and it was even better than the first. The food was superb. We had duck breast and swordfish for main courses, both of which were creative and delicious. The first course of marinated trout was also excellent and very unusual in the combination of flavors. Service was outstanding: very friendly and professional. This is one of the best restaurants in Avignon and one of the best we've visited in France.

We ate outdoors, which was inside a courtyard off a busy street. Excellent food and service. The cassoulet is rich and very filling, so you may want to pair it with a lighter starter and dessert.

Our meal was fantastic. One of the best on our tour of France. The service was impeccable and contrary to some reviews the language barrier really did not exist. They even had a menu in English. Both servers were excellent in their explanation of the dishes. The Fois Gras was excellent as was the Casserole, very different in the presentation as well as the quality. I can only highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great meal out in Avignon.
