Owing to trouble finding parking in this heavily pedestrianized part of old Montpellier, we barely squeaked in before the kitchen closed for the afternoon. By this time only one of the "mama's boys" was manning the small (c. 14-table) space and he was occupied at first with departing diners. It also mean the kitchen was either out of, or didn't have time to prepare, certain things we were interested in, such as the marrow bone appetizer. But the two mac and cheese dishes and the steak and fries we ended up with were beautifully prepared and delicious.
