About the restaurant Les Fuchsias

The staff were nice but seemed disorganised. Just a few little things. We asked for water it did not come and had to ask again. A dozen oysters only had 11 and had to point this out. The restaurant was busy but the little things make a good restaurant a great one

I first visited Les Fuchsias over 33 years ago and have returned on several occasions only to find that it has always improved. The quality of the food on our last visit was superb.

Lovely setting in the garden, service good, food very disappointing. Trying too many different styles with little focus on good cooking and tastes. Blocks of raw salmon, not of the best melt-in-the -mouth quality required, for a Japanese inspired starter, and a slab of pollack for a main course - pollack is a fish that needs all the help it can get
and it got none. Cheese board also, amazingly, disappointing. 200 euros for a meal for 4, one a vegetarian, with a bottle and a half of white wine and a glass of red.

Atmosphere was a bit lacking. Probably because we were tucked into a tight rear corner of the restaurant even though it turned out to be virtually empty. My wife's fish was excellent, but mine was mediocre ( I chose a special which turned out to be too lean on content). However the overal standard is still v good. Service was excellent.
