About the restaurant Lo Gorissado

This was our first visit. We have a fabulous time, and the food was the bests we have eaten all Summer. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves excellent food, great service and a lovely rustic setting way out in the countryside away from it all. Will definitely keep the details to come again.

Dinner here was out of this world--from the service to the food everything was perfect. The owner and hostesss was phenomenal (and spoke great English), chatting with us about the history of the restaurant and where the animals live and food grows. We saved this meal for our last night in the valley, which was such a good decision--the food can't compare to anything else we had while in France. It truly is the best farm to table experience and worth the somewhat unexpected drive back in the hills!

Fabulous food and presentation. Attentive waiter, if a bit too engaging. Outdoors was pleasant until nightfall, when all the bugs in the forest flew into our faces and nose-dived into us. They were attracted to the lights, I guess. I've eaten outside before in this region and never had so many moths and flying insects. Otherwise would have rated ambiance higher.

This was a truly interesting and amazing evening. We left our cottage and drove 20 minutes into the dark forest, never encountering a soul. We arrived at the restaurant and never saw another customer--indeed, another human being except for our server. He was excellent and professional, and the food remarkably diverse and outstanding, beautiful to look at and fabulous to taste. Persevere in finding this place, as it's worth it. Some people must find it, as it's been in business, we're told, for 33 years. Go.

We couldn't say enough of the experience; food was fantastic, service excellent and ambience was great. If you only have time for one meal out in Perigord Noir, don't miss this place.

We enjoyed our meal at Lo Gorissado so much! My husband proclaimed it the best meal he's eaten in France (and that's saying a lot!). We look forward to returning and telling our friends about it. I can't believe we've been traveling to the Dordogne for years sign out knowing about this gem tucked into the hills. Such a delight!

By far this was the best meal of our week in the Dordogne. All four of us (2 adults and 2 teenagers) were delighted by the food, service and entire experience. The restaurant is off the usual tourist trail, but so worth the effort to find it. The restaurant is small so booking is advised. Nothing could be faulted from the moment we walked in. The quality was outstanding and the service was too. The menu was available in English and gave all four of us a great choice. My teenagers loved it "Best duck I've ever had" and my wife found enough to give her a choice avoiding meat. I simply remain suitably impressed wishing we'd have found the restaurant at the start of our stay.

What a wonderful find! This delightful restaurant has it all - idyllic location, welcoming and knowledgeable staff and a chef who makes imaginative use of the freshest local ingredients, many of which are home grown. Our lunch at Lo Gorissado was a total delight; all four of us agreed without any doubt that this was one our Memorable Meals, a heartfelt accolade.
Two of us will return next week with other visiting friends and have no doubt that our second experience will be as delightful as this one.
Go there!

Let yourself be guided by the patron. The chef's daily suggestions were the best discoveries. The patron also recommended wine (by the glass, so each person would have the best match with each dish) and the choice she made for us was excellent and not pricey. On the down side, the setting and atmosphere is barely satisfying inside (music OK, louder would have been too much, and still one could hear other table's conversations; lighting a bit too intense). Outside must be super by sunny and warmer days!

We had a fantastic meal. Beautifully displayed, wonderful tasting, garden fresh and presented by our wonderful hostess. It's a little bit of a drive out of Sarlat - definitely worth finding.

we called the restaurant for direction. The restaurant is not very easy to find. The reception at the restaurant is very kind. The food tastes very fresh. We ate scallops, prawns, and salmon. All good. 80 euros for 2 perons without wine. Prices are fair for its quality. Recommend!
