Lovely traditional restaurant. Wine was great and very reasonable and the food was overall delicious! Would recommend if you want a quiet and relaxed dinner in Palermo.

Little charming restaurant with only 8 tables fresh sea food specialty next to Politeama Theater. Service very gentle and polite. Price in the average for the quality. Spaghetti with swordfish and tomatoes were great. Some options in the wine chart very affordable.

We tried this restaurant because it was close to our hotel and were not disappointed. The staff was attentive and helpful with explaining the menu options. The fresh seafood of the day choices were wheeled out on a cart for us to choose prior to cooking. The food was well prepared and the quiet ambiance made for a delightful dinner after a full day of travel.

Our second visit in a week. Started with risotto and the asparagus soup, both superb. We then shared a seabass that melted in the mouth. The best meal of our week in Palermo

Veal steak and pork fillet were the best we have found. The fish also looked great and we plan to return to try that. Service is perfect, there when wanted but never pushy. Highly recommended.

We stopped in for lunch. What a treat. The grilled calamari was yummy. The avocado with shrimp & basil cream sauce was magnifico. The calamari stuffed with shrimp & greens was unusual but did not disappoint. The grilled vegetables were limp but had good flavor.

The plane from London was late and when I called to tell them know that we probably won’t make our reservation at 10 pm, they said not to worry, the kitchen is open till 10:30 p.m. Driving in Palermo for the first time took us a little longer and we knew that we will never make it. When we finally got there at 10:40 pm they were still waiting for us. They let us park in front of the restaurant, greeted us with aperitivo, and treated us like the tired and hungry members of their family who just came home after a long day. On top of that the meal-fresh fish with capers and tomatoes for me and beautifully prepared veal for my husband - and the local wine was delicious! So huge thank you, La Scudiero, for an unforgettable experience on our first night in Palermo!

Isn't it nice to find true fine dining in Palermo! Lo Scudiero offers exquisite service in a quietly elegant venue, freshest offerings from sea and terroir, the excellently different menu preparations one hopes for, a well-chosen cellar, and fine sweet finishes for your dinner. We stumbled on Lo Scudiero in what was promising to be a fruitless online search for a decent meal within walking distance of our hotel . . .and were so charmed by our first encounter that we returned on our second Palermo night without a second thought. Try the delicious filets of pork, any of the evening's still-dripping catch from the adjacent Tyrrhenian Sea, al dente pasta innovations, perhaps a fine slice of cassata siciliana for dessert? While I stubbornly continue to grant 5 stars to only five restaurants on Earth, you will not regret for an instant spending an evening in the lovely 4+++ star Lo Scudiero.
