Really lovely time and so generous with food and service. Thanks!
Excellent tapas place with a generous tasting menu (40euro). The staff is very attentive and happy to discuss the dishes and the local produce. The seafood and the ribs were exquisite.
Great food and fantastic service, will be back
One of the best places at Bilbao.
Very good traditional Basque Cuisine in the center of Bilbao. Moderate prices. The restaurant is very popular, hence crowded, so do not expect a fantastic service, as they do not have enough waiters, but they are very friendly and they do their best for the circumstances. The food is fresh, delicious and typically Basque, focused on great ingredients. The croquettes with Pamplona Chorizo are amazing and so are the eggs with potatoes, truffles and duck liver. Both the fried Merluza (hake) and Tuna Ventresca were honest and home-style.
Servicio y menú Bilbao excelentes.
Outstanding, fresh, local food, expertly and attentively prepared, a lovely informal atmosphere. Would definitely go there again whenever i am in Bilbao, or even make a detour to go there!
Can’t fault this place. Warm welcome, attentive service from a team who clearly love their work. The setting is relaxed and unpretentious. Clear flavours and wonderful presentation. Thank you all.
The appetizers,Russian salad and chorizo croquettes were good, but the grilled shrimp and turbot were way too salty! The staff spoke English ,gave us an English menu, and were helpful, but once the restaurant filled up,were too busy to ask how the food tasted! The atmosphere was quiet ,but felt understaffed!
Small restaurant well located near Plaza Nueva. Good range of menus and excellent (if not wide) choice of wines. We enjoyed large helpings of good food, cooked to order. Would definitely recommend and advise booking in advance.
Fantastic quality and inventive twist to traditional Basque tapas. Nice and relaxed atmosphere and great service. A small gem just round the corner from the tourist trap of Plaza Nueva.
Interior a bit of a mess and service quick but basic, but the food was tasty and good value. Menu not as repetitive and boring as other Local restaurants.
It was great to eat here. We both had the tasting menu which was varied and delicious. The staff were very attentive and the wine with the meal was inexpensive. I would definitely return and recommend the restaurant for a meal.
Excellent! I’d return in a heartbeat. It’s a very special meal curated by a great waitstaff and chef. The space is small and charming. We had the “ugly” tomato salad, the almond and truffle gazpacho, croquettes, and the Bacalao fish. Great cava and Verdejo, and our server had great knowledge of Spanish wines; grapes, regions, etc. Riquísimo.
We were seated upstairs. Unfortunatly the kitchen ventilation was on during the whole stay and made a big noise. This disturbed us quite a bit an this disinterupted our cosy gettogether
We went for the menu which started off with two absolutely superb dishes - a pintxos and a fresh tomato salad - served with a lovely rose wine recommended by the waiter and chilled to perfection. Both our mains however were not great and the desert was awful. There was a very long wait between courses. Then a woman was literally ejected from the restaurant causing a huge scene and she pelted bread rolls at the staff only narrowly missing us! No idea what was going on but she was very vocal in her displeasure. This also may have been the reason for the delay between courses and the disappointing mains and desert. The restaurant did apologise to us fleetingly and you can’t really hold them accountable for the incident but it would have been good customer service to offer us a complementary drink/coffee as we had just been pelted with bread rolls! An interesting experience! The restaurant was busy and fully booked - I wouldn’t write it off and would go back to try again and hopefully dodge the bread rolls.
