About the restaurant Los Loquitos

The place looks quite old but the people there and the food is really nice. I took chilli con carne and it was very good, with slow cooked beef. And they have some aged rhum which is a must while there.

Disappointed. Made reservations through fourchette they put our party of 4 at a table for 6.at the cold front door (Even though there were many other 4 tops available). When 2's came in without a reso they tried to talk them in to sitting at the corner of our table and it was very uncomfortable. We ordered margaritas which tasted nothing like a margarita. (I have no idea what was in there) The service was fine, polite. I ordered a chicken dish for the sole reason it came with plantains. It didn't. When I asked the waiter said, we don't have those you can have a green salad or vegetables. Super disappointing. The guacamole was really good but overall not worth the 90€ for a family of 4. (I know...I know...Mexican in Strasbourg was not a good idea but I had read previous other reviews and was optimistic.)

Quite passable Mexican food in Strasbourg in a nice simple Latin atmosphere. Pleasant service and good fajitas that Inwould recommend to locals and visitors looking for a Mexican flavor fix in the midst of heavy continental and Alsacian cuisine.

It is frankly the best Mexican restaurant I've been to. Frankly I have not been to many, because I have this prejudice that they are mostly loud student places where they put canned corn in every dish. Los Loquitos is not very far from the young, small and loud concept, but it offers friendly service, excellent food and Margaritas. The only major setback is the ventilation of the place. Each time I go there I smell like marinated sombrero on the next day(s). Anyway, I come back for more ...
