Best meal of my life (and I've been fortunate enough to eat some fantastic food). The food was authentic and yet surprising, comforting yet uplifting... alcohol choices were unique... the environment was traditional yet informal... and the service was attentive but not overbearing. This is a restaurant of perfect balances... where everything is in harmony. I've never left a restaurant so satisfied!

The food in this restaurant is delicious, inventive and beautifully presented. So all kudos to the chefs. Unfortunately our experience was ruined by the head waiter's rude and arrogant attitude. First of all we waited about 30 minutes to see a menu but we accepted this as they were very busy. When I opened the menu I saw there were only meat options so I explained to him that I was pescatarian as my husband had done when booking. He seemed to take offence at this and said they 'only served meat". He then went off to check and came back to give me an alternative menu. This looked tasty so no problem. But he was then quite dismissive about our choice to possibly not choose the wine flight, when we indicated we might prefer to choose our own wine. He said 'Well I choose the wine to match my menu' and then it felt like we were being reprimanded for not going with his choice. From then on he pretty much ignored us and we experienced a few mistakes. We didn't get all the wine we asked for, service was slow, communication was poor. When the bill came there were some errors, which we addressed with him. One was that my husband was charged 15 euros for two chestnuts he was offered with his meal. The wine price was inaccurate as he didn't give us all the wine we asked for. He was rude, confrontational and arrogant when we questioned him - again almost reprimanding us and raising his voice. It was all very disappointing. We were very upset by his attitude, not least because my husband booked this six months ago for a special birthday gift. We eat out a lot and rarely complain but I feel it's important to warn others of this unacceptable behaviour. The food is divine but there is no pleasure in eating in a place where you are dismissed and made to feel uncomfortable.

Everything about this restaurant is wonderful. The food, ambience, service and hospitality of the owner is above expectation. I have been in this restaurant many times and is always feel like come back home. I'm recommending this place, don't miss one of the best restaurant in Vienna.

We were invited to Ludwig. Van for a lovely tasting menu dinner when we were vacationing in Vienna. We loved it so much that we came back the second time before we left for home. The food , wine and service was excellent . Food presentation and innovation at its best.

We were very pleased that we chose Ludwig van to dine at for our visit to Vienna from afar. The tasting menu and matched wines made for an excellent dining experience, and the personalised service was friendly and professional. Very memorial and recommended.

Fine dining without being ostentatious. The restaurant provides a “cozy” dining setting and the owner, who oversees the dining room, elevates the experience with his charm and hospitality.

I found Ludwig van while doing some homework for a venue to have a quiet, personal celebratory dinner while in Vienna. The restaurant is on a quiet street in a safe neighborhood. The staff immediately made us feel like honored guests. The room was small, the clientele were all well-behaved. The staff was efficient, but not intrusive. The food was well-plated and attractive. The wine pairings were completely appropriate and featured relatively local wines, which we wouldn't have known to sample otherwise. The overall cost for a 6 course tasting menu dinner was very reasonable compared to other such dinners we have had. I would give it 5 stars out of 5.

This is a MUST! The food is delicious and beautifully plated. Each dish is made intricately - every ingredient counts in every course. I absolutely LOVED this restaurant, and the waiters were incredibly attentive. The wine pairing is also a MUST!!! They choose each wine carefully for each dish and they did an outstanding job pairing the food. Truly a magical experience. I simply cannot put into words how wonderful this experience was.

The restaurant offers superb food and while not cheap is worth every cent. All the staff were engaging and attentive. The wine pairings were perfect. If you are looking for a special night out in Vienna this is a great choice

Ghus restaurant was a real discovery. Very kice staff. Excellent food. Gery good wine. Beautiful interior and good music. Superb. When we are back in Vienna we will visit it again.

We had a fabulous night here last night. Oliver was brilliant and a very welcoming front of house. It was my sister’s birthday and he gave us 2 delicious cocktails to kick our evening off. We ambitiously went for the full Shebam of 7 course but have to change it to 6 courses as we were so full. Food was delicious, we couldn’t fault it. Service was a bit slow but it was full, Sat night and we were making an evening of it anyway. Only downside was that we felt very full as the slower you eat the fuller you feel. But it was a fabulous evening and made our weekend treat to Vienna very special.

In Vienna you can eat Viennese food everywhere, that is logic. But in this restaurant the quality is outstanding and that is not always that obvious. And there is a rich choice of also high quality Austrian wines, by the glass if you wish. it's not cheap but quality has it's price. It was worth every euro.

Very nice, tasty and cozy. Portions are rather big for restaurant with Michelin cuisine. Be careful if u want try more than 5 courses menu. We liked wine paring suggestions. Highly recommend you to visit!

Wine tasting combo with 6 course dinner lacked wine. 3 of the 6 courses had our cups empty (two of the dishes were the protein!). Had to order a glass of wine at some point which ended up being charged extra. Last two courses took more than one hour to serve, for the grand total of 3 hours and a half dinner (again for 6 dishes, not 18!). Some of the food was brought without any presentation. Food was good (although the pre-red meat “pallette cleanser” fruit icecream was a rather surprising choice) but the chef’s work is in my humble oppinion undermined by the clumsy front of the house. Paying the bill was a decidedly unpleasant experience, being specifically asked for a tip (3 times!) for having our table ignored for the last part of the evening. The prices are on par with a one Michelin star restaurant but with the service of a typical tourist trap joint. Probably best experienced by locals but i would not return if i got paid to do it.

The restaurant wasn’t very nice looking and the tables and chairs were terrible, I couldn’t even get my legs under the table, they clearly hadn’t thought that through. It was like the chairs were too high and the table was too low. The owner who served me was extremely rude and basically told me off for asking questions about the menu. Terrible experience I wouldn’t recommend this place.
