High-quality menu. Not a huge selection of pasta but many delicious thoughtful/contemporary dishes. The atmosphere was great. I will definitely go back in the summer to sit in the courtyard. Thanks!

suggest providing spoon instead of knife with spaghetti, roast the roasted beets (mine were pickled. Love the record player! Noticed a lot of fruit flies. Intriguing menu, lots of wine to choose from. Cosy atmosphere.

Another pleasant experience!
During my second visit to Netherlands/Rotterdam, I had a chance to dine at Lux not just once but fortunately few times!
What I like about Lux is that not only the quality of the food is great but also there is always a twist of creativity that makes me enjoy the food even more.

I start with my most favourite dessert, Tiramisu, that I think in Lux you can find the best one with no exception! For main dishes, I have had beefsteak with an amazing horseradish sauce, also, risotto with white asparagus and addition of pistachio that I found absolutely a fantastic combination. I also had squid with spinach one night that was another excellent meal.

I truly appreciate the fact that at Lux you could tell there has been a lot of thought behind every single element you see around there from food to music, to flowers, to glasses, plates and even choice of cancel holders!

Last but not least is the perfect service you get there!

The interior was pleasant and the wait staff friendly and helpful. The wine list, all bio and natural wines, was concise and very interesting : we enjoyed our choices. However, we were disappointed by the food : we chose the 7 course menu which was extremely well priced at 40E and consisted of : a rather meagre, cold, poorly grilled vegetable antipasti plate to share, a cold beetroot soup with some extremely acidic pickled rhubarb, white asparagus & apricot slices in a strange tasteless pale sauce with small scattered pieces of cheese (!), a ricotta lemon tortillini, a grilled octopus tentacle, spaghettini in a fish & chili oil and finally a slice of cote de boeuf. The cooking of the two pieces of protein was professional and the pasta was perfectly al dente; the vegetables suffered from over grilling but overall the dishes were rather colourless with some bizarre ingredient combinations served on plates which lacked dressing or sauces. Would I go back? I might do but I think, although the ingredients were good, Lux needs to think about food combinations and the diners eye to mouth experience.

During my two weeks visit to Rotterdam in May, I was lucky enough to try this home style restaurant not only once but three times.
The restaurant itself has a very beautiful, relaxing surroundings with a soft music. Very nice and friendly service. The chef was genuinely interested in how we were enjoying the food.
For the starter, I tried Anti Pasti, Pattate Fritte and also the Sauerkraut which were all very rich in flavours. I tried several vegetarian main courses. The in house Linguini with mushroom sauce, Tortellini with pumpkin and also the Ravioli. Each night I had a different desert, out of which were all exquisite, I would admit the Espresso Chocolate ice cream was with no doubt exceptional.

Overall it was an incredible experience and I highly recommend this place to any one who is fortunate to live in the beautiful country of Netherlands!

Pleasant environment.. Nice decoration.. Perfect service and above all, eating a meal with a superior taste makes Lux one of the best places that I have ever gone..
