10/10We were so happy to find Macallé,, it was such a treat to experience hospitality at its truest. We were welcomed by the owner and given exactly what we were looking for. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a unique place to eat.

10/10An excellent dining experience. High concept Sicilian food - "grandma's recipes" with a culinary upgrade. The pasta dishes and desert were notable. The owner/chef expained each dish and helped with service. The restaurant was full at 8pm in mid-April, so a reservation is a mush.

10/10Maurizio was a welcoming and engaging chef/host. The quality of his food and the accompanying wines is tremendous. If you are looking for a beautiful environment in which to enjoy Ortigia's food, this is the place.

9.5/10This family run, traditional Sicilian restaurant was guilty of spoiling us for any other restaurant in Ortigia. The sea bass was the best ever, the veal super tender, melt in your mouth and the tiramisu made me speechless! The outdoor seating is next to a busier road but it quiets down after 8:30. The food, comedic warmth of Maurizio, the chef and owner as well as Andre, his son and waiter make up for this minor outdoor seating shortcoming. Pricing will be around 100 euros for two with two glasses of impressive Sicilian wine and dessert. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

9.5/10We ate the best food during our visit to Ortigia in this restaurant. The chef, Maurizio is a master who teaches culinary arts at the local university. There were 4 of us and everything we ate was fantastic. If tiramisu is on the menu, do not miss it. it is made by Maurizio’s wife and is the best tiramisu we ever ate.

10/10This restaurant was an unexpected great find in our Sicily trip. The atmosphere was lively, the decorations and staff were colorful. The food was amazing and the wine recommendations were spot on. Loved it!

TRANQUILLITÀ - Nel meraviglioso contesto di Ortigia, nel cuore di Siracusa, si trova il Ristorante Macallè Sicilian Bistrot. Un ambiente elegante e raffinato, dove non mancano anche cordialità ed accoglienza. L'atmosfera che si respira all'interno della struttura è calda, tranquilla e rilassata. COSA ORDINARE - Il menù del locale propone un'ampia selezione di portate preparate seguendo le ricette tipiche della tradizione siciliana. I piatti a base di pesce dominano senza dubbio la carta, ma sono disponibili anche deliziose proposte vegetariane. DA PROVARE - Sicuramente consigliati gli gnocchi ai due gusci, il filetto siculo, la millefoglie di mare e le alici ortigiane.
