Macallè sicilian

Superb evening - the degustation menu was excellent, an interesting twist on traditional Sicilian dishes.

We felt very warmly welcomed, the food was very fresh and interesting and the service efficient. It finished our day in beautiful Syracuse on a very positive note.

The Bruschetta Macalle and especially the Cotoletta di Mare were amaaaaaaazing. The owner of the restaurant was also a really fun guy and a joy to speak with. The bread offered was also great (which we didn't always find was the case whilst travelling through Sicily).

Wonderful meal. Excellent wine. Lovely hosts.

We probably wouldn't have found this restaurant away from the main streets without the recommendation of our hotel concierge. So glad we came here- the portions are fortunately not over huge with every mouthful a sensation. Plus great wine guidance from the staff.

Delicious meal

The restaurant is quite small with tables close together and hard surfaces which magnifies chatter, so quite noisy. Food good, service very friendly - but beware, the restaurant only opens at 7:30pm at the earliest, but The Fork lets you book for 7pm! 2 courses each, plus water and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc came to Euros 114, so not cheap, but the quality of the cooking was good.

Parfait ????

The restaurant, located on a side street away from the busy tourist area, is delightful. The staff is welcoming and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. It is a bit expensive but is a nice place for a special occasion.

Perfect family operated business with a chef who is very close to a Michelin star. Highly recommended and the best restaurant in Ortigia - by far.

Nicest people I ever came across!! I have celiac so I can only eat gluten free food, the entire menu is gluten free (and delicious) but what really amazed me is that the chef said - wait 2 minutes, I'll prepare a special warm bread for you. and indeed only 2 minutes later steaming hot gluten free bread arrived to my table. speechless and greatful!

Everything was supreme. Sea bass & tuna were out of this world. Chef/Owner & so are do warm & welcoming.

Fresh ingredients that were all thoughtfully considered and prepared. Attentive and warm service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

The food was fantastic and our best meal in Ortegia. The owner and staff were extremely attentive and it was obvious that they are proud of the food and wine they are serving Wish all resturants had this perspective. We will be back!

Delicious food

Maurizio was very welcoming and the food excellent. Service was quick and caring and thoughtful We had advised my wife is gluten free and Maurizio served perfect bread and advised well other items. Very good experience all round.

Excellent service and delicious meal. The location is a little out of the way but definitely worth the visit.
