Made a reservation months ago. Should not have bothered, meant nothing to them. Sat us in the middle of the restaurant and then proceeded to seat walikins at the better tables for the next 25 mins and never bothered to come see us. Obviously a tourist spot but they sortie not bother taking reservations, really not nice to treat people like this

What an amazing time we had. When the singers came in at the end, made it even more memorable. Definite must see! Make sure to make a reservation if you plan on eating there.

Well worth the long walk in the rain to get there. Chose the Sicilian anti pasta great selection of local appetisers. Followed by Norma pasta dish and finally tiramisu all delicious. Efficient service How are you talking and writing the reasonably priced. Would recommend this family run restaurant.

If you visit Taormina and don't have at least one meal here, you haven't experienced Taormina. The food, service and prices are fantastic! We're from Los Angeles, and I wish we could find a place like this at home. We got the names of our four servers because they work together seemlessly so that everyone's needs are met. Fabrizio, Naomi (pronounced na-OH-mee for those of us from the States), Daniela and Salvo (Salvatore) are not only efficient, but super friendly as well. Treat yourself to a fantastic dining experience here, and be sure to make a reservation. Our thanks to Mamma and her kitchen staff and to our four servers for a dining experience we will always remember.

Absolutely the best Italian food in Taormina. Family owned business where 'Mamma' is the chef and her cooking is sublime. Their pastas are absolutely divine -- perfectly cooked. Prices are extremely reasonable. Great staff. It was so amazing that we made a reservation for the very next night.

Malvasia was recommended to us by i2Travel who we work with for incentive groups throughout Italy. We were so disappointed with the experience. We had a reservation for (2) and our table was placed right in the center of a very busy area. It was as if they forgot they needed one more table and just plopped it down there with no thought. The result was that we were very crowded and servers could not move around us easily. The restaurant was busy (good for them) so our food was very rushed. We received the next course prior to finishing the last. Finally (the icing on the cake), when we asked for the bill and finally got it, the manager brought the credit card machine over the basically stuck it out for my husband to make the payment without even looking at either of us. He never said anything (certainly not a thank you) during the transaction and when the receipt printed, he quickly ripped it off the machine, put it on the table and walked off as he was telling a server to change the table to prepare for the next seating. Very very very disappointing. I'm sure when i2Travel books the restaurant it is for a larger group and it is handled quite differently. If you are looking for a quiet and enjoyable dinner for two or four, I suggest you look elsewhere. They are far too busy to care.

Food was good, although the mussels and clams consisted mainly of mussels (they were tasty though) and side salad was a bit disappointing (mainly limp iceberg lettuce). Parmigiana and squid ink pasta were lovely and generally a nice place, with reasonable prices for Taormina, just let down a little by staff who were welcoming initially but became slightly grumpy and inattentive as the evening progressed.

Malvasia blew us away with their outstanding service and recommendations, however more importantly, with the quality of their food. We had high expectations coming into the night and they were far and away exceeded. Can’t wait to go back!

Great restaurant in busy Taormina. Outside the throng but still has atmosphere to burn. Food really good. Staff can be a bit pushy to make you feel rushed. But well worth the visit.

Excellent all around. Recommend a reservation. A Sunday lunch and the place was almost completely full. Outstanding caponata and overall good value for quality of food. Hope to come back.

This was a fun experience. We were there early with a reservation and watched the expressions on the faces of all the people they turned away without a reservation even the whole place was empty. I understand why, it was just comical to see. Our food was delicious. We chose the shrimp ravioli and the lemon/pistachio linguini based on previous reviews. Large portions and very tasty. It’s a very lively place !!

We had a great meal at this charming family-run restaurant. Every member of the staff we encountered was fantastic and very helpful. Our food was sensational and very typical of the region. We’ll definitely be back!
