About the restaurant Manairó

"In the Eixample neighborhood we find the Manairó restaurant, specialized in typical Catalan cuisine. It is a traditional establishment adapted to the 21st century, offering a contrast between traditional gastronomy and a modern touch.

If you visit this restaurant we recommend the hard-boiled eggs of pâté and foie gras with vegetable stew or the duck thighs with potatoes. In addition, don't forget to try one of their desserts as the Músic with pears and yogurt or Santa Teresa toast with raisins and cheese ice cream.

Absolutely brilliant place to take my wife for her 60th. All the dishes were fabulous. Expensive but well worth it for the experience. The variety of quirky dishes and strong flavours was just right and the staff explained every course thoroughly. The restaurant itself was dark and atmospheric and the birdcage lights a nice touch.

This was a wonderful restaurant. Though it is possible to order a la carte...the way to go is from the tasting menu. There are two tasting menu’s. The one with fewer courses is the more traditional menu. Our waiter encouraged this when asked because it really showcased some of the dishes the chef is known for. Every bite was an amazing adventure. The flavors were unique in each course and literally exploded on the tastebuds. True works of art in each course and that includes presentation. Everything was described when it was presented which was helpful otherwise we might not have guessed for example that the succulent piece of meat we were eating was lamb’s cheek. Friendly, unpretentious atmosphere. Great location close to Sacridad Famiglia ( we did the 6:45pm time slot then went to dinner after). Perfect timing

From beginning to the end of our meal the service and food were exemplary. The imagination in the dishes served was worthy of three stars. I have seldom been so enchanted by what was served and what I ate. The homemade rustic bread was a treat. Each course was served on attractive plates and bowls. My companions remarked their fish was excellent. I had the filet of beef which was cooked to perfection. The deserts were very inventive. Our guest had carrot cake which came in a form I never imagined. Another guest had a Chocolate coolant which was excellent and with a deep chocolate flavor. All in all it is a restaurant I would recommend unabashedly.

Last May my friend and I were for a few days in Barcelona and we tried to get a table at this restaurant but when trying to make the reservation, they were already fully booked.
So, we kept in mind that when back to Barcelona, we would try it again.
And so we did at the end of past December (Even knowing that meanwhile they lost their “michelin-star”). Honestly, we can have an idea why they lost their star, BUT, the thing is, we had a very good dinner, pleasant and delightful evening.
We had the Menu Manairo and even though we are “expert eaters”, we must say, there were some combinations of ingredients and their preparation which for us were “quite strange”…but in a very good and surprisingly way.
Congratulations to the chef, his kitchen staff and to the two friendly gentlemen waiters who did their very best to serve all the tables very professionally.
Last but not least: the interior of the restaurant is one of the most “fairy like” we have seen.

Very nice and cute restaurant with excellent and attentive service. Tried the classic menu with a dessert which ended up with 6 courses in total. Love the pork belly and foie gras ravioli, the crispy beef strip is also very creative. Pineapple candy is very nice touch in the end coupling with the tea and espresso. Interesting deco. Close to Monumental metro station and totally worth a visit.

Had the large tasting menue. Be hungry when you arrive. One of 16 dishes were not to our liking but the rest was interesting, well executed and good tasting. The desserts was outstanding and the service immaculate.

This restaurant appeals to those wanting an antidote to tapas establishments. Elegant, quiet , creatively and expertly prepared Catalanian dishes. We highly recommend the foie gras ravioli and the scallop appetizer. The two lamb dishes were delicious as were the desserts. Service is unequalled.
