We decided to book this restaurant, because it is located in The House of legendary fado queen Maria Severa. The interior is very small (only few tables), but nice and pleasant. The service is great. You have degustation menu here with apetizers, main course and desert. The three course meal was very good - a wide range of small dishes to start, mains of fish, vegetarian or meat and a choice of five desserts. There were three fado performances, with two great guitarists and two different singers, all very impressive. This was a really memorable evening and good value at 50 euros each (cash only).
The restaurant is very small and it was a pity several people who had booked tables did not arrive, but service was very pleasant, fish meals enjoyable and above all fado performances, the main reason we went there, were great.
a very lovely night! And I enjoyed to listen to the musicians playing and singing Fado!
At the heart of the real authentic Lisbon, a truly fantastic place. One is made to feel home immediately, the food and the drinks are very generous and the fado singers and musicians are just.... there are no words, come and enjoy !
Small and intimate restaurant with a feel of home. I felt relaxed and welcome and once the music started I was completely encompassed by the emotion of the song. This is not just about the food, this is about the history and the understanding of the Portuguese people. A wonderful experience!
Absolutely loved this little find. It was 50 per person for dinner and the fado. We go little appetizers for the table, all order there set for you. A variety of traditional portugese food. Then you choose a main and a dessert. it comes with wine, beer or port. Loved the fado and the service was amazing.
The perfect spot in Mouraria, the most authentic part of Lisbon. Excellent food, service and Fado... ...highly recomended!
A wonderful traditional Portuguese meal and experience that will be a highlight of our trip to Lisbon. It was like having a cozy dinner in a friends home with some amazing local talent performing just for us. I would recommend this over one of the touristy Fado houses, hands down. .Two things to note: payment in cash only, we knew that but a large party sitting near us were surprised. Location is not accessible by car, it's a short walk from where Uber can drop you off, but my husband is handicapped and this caught us by surprise. Our server was outstanding, he walked us back out to the street to catch our Uber when the evening was over.
The restaurant was adorable and the staff was very attentive. Unfortunately the food was just mediocre. I understand completely that this is for tourists, of which I am one, but for the 50€ price I will take better quality over quantity which is what was provided. I’m glad I went, but don’t expect a stellar meal.
Everybody told us not to go to a fado restaurant. We are happy, that we always have a look at things to make our opinion by experience, not by opinions of other people.. Thanks for this wonderful night at the great team of Maria da Mouria!
The food was wonderful. The musicians were talented, warm and engaging. I had great conversations with intelligent, well-traveled people. The atmosphere was great. The restaurant, was somewhat smaller, than I thought it would be. However, the positive, was it provided an opportunity to meet and talk with some very wonderful, interesting people! The staff were really hospitable, attentive. I really appreciated, being escorted, by staff, to my taxi, to ensure my safety, after the event, which ended somewhat late at night! They, the staff, went way and beyond what I expected. Thank you, for a wonderful evening.
This place amazing!!! Everything location building stuff and FADO of course. If you stay Lisbon Alfama visit this place and enjoy fado with good food. One of best attractions
Wait staff was excellent and helpful. Fantastic music and atmosphere, goes along with the amazing food! If you are visiting even for a day it’s well worth the visit and yuh get your moneys worth.
The atmosphere, the service, the fado and the food were all amazing. The waiters went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and they were only overshadowed by the talented singers who made everyone sit in awe of their voices and emotion.
Amazing restaurant. Great service and great food. Wonderful fada show!!!!! Would recommend to everyone. They don’t take credit cards so bring euros! Everyone should experience this delightful restaurant ❤️
Perfect portugese fado experience! Loved the music, and the food was great. Would definitely go there again.
The restaurant is tiny and the people are packed in but this contributes to the atmosphere. We were early and invited to savour a drink outside overlooking the courtyard where we surveyed a frenetic preparation of fires and food in the restaurants below. When we arrived at our table, we were impressed by the array of starters and the beautifully table. That set a precedent for what followed - delicious seafood chosen from a sizable menu, red and white wine and we had a delicious mango dessert. The service was impressive, attentive and personal and of course, the fado singers were sincere, soulful and skilled. We left feeling very satisfied that we had experienced authentic Portuguese food and Fado. It is a must for anyone’s first visit to Lisbon.
Food is simple but very good, truly Portuguese! The SERVICE is OUTSTANDING!!!
Absolutely fantastic! Great food, including vegetarian options, and wonderful music. There were 5 performances of three songs each throughout the 3-hour event.
Wonderful experience all round.. the food was delicious and incredibly good value, the service was excellent and there was even a show - 2 short performances with guitars and singing of traditional Portuguese songs. Would highly recommend it.
The food was quite good,,though the restaurant got very hot inside, over the course of the night. Music was excellent
Très bon spectacle de Fado
I personally would prefer a la carte dinner but also unterstand that it might disturb the whole show. It was anyhow a pleasant evening
Excellent service in a very cute quirky house . Fados was really beautiful and touching A bit disappointed with the food - plenty in quantity but cool be better prepared Overall good evening and I would recommend
Interesting place. Food average at best. Fado nice but less than 20 minutes in two hours. Not really worth the 45€ fixed price.
Atmosfera da 11
Service and staff were excellent. Entres were generous and quality was fine. This is a fado with dinner club. Often the food suffers in such places, but not in the case of Maria da Mouraria.
Great night. The music was good as was the food and service. Highly recommend
No Tourist show at all. Exelent musiciants .
It was a highlight of our stay in Lisbon. My tuna was the best I have had. The service was impeccable. The Fado music was simply wonderful. There were sets with a singer and a couple with only guitars. Watching the masterful playing in a small environment was worth the price of the evening. I would say this is not to be missed during one’s stay in Lisbon.
Great Fado, great food
Amazing authentic experience. Service was so attentive and personal. A true Lisbon experience. Food was delicious and perfomrances as a Fado virgin was inspiring. Would 100% reccomend. Will be a treasured memory.
Nice evening ang very good Fado.
What a wonderful evening out. Cash only and a set menu. Continued to refill our wine glasses. Good choice of options for a main course. Appetizers included in the cost of 45 Euro per person. Well worth it, considering you also have a Fado concert with various performers, even the owner of the premises, who by the way was very good. A lovely intimate restaurant in an old home. Sat 30 people at the most. Service was excellent. Would recommend.
a great fado house, with terrific food. 45 euros is a lot for a good meal in Lisbon, but with the music it is definitely fair.
The restaurant gave us a wonderful evening with fado music and a fixed price menu with no surprises. We had a relaxing fun evening and the venue is small enough to interact with other guests and really enjoy the cultural experience. The waiters were exceptional and provided excellent service the entire evening.
Very special place for Fado- several wonderful musicians played gorgeous guitar and sang movingly. The service and ambience were warm and welcoming and the food was delicious. Highly recommended for a terrific evening of dinner and Fado music.
