Great restaurant off the main beach which we found to have places serving poor quality expensive food. Masquerua la Mayor was great service and the seafood was deliciously fresh, well cooked and served promptly.
Definitely good value and great quality.

The fish was very good, but the prawns were overpriced (EUR 4 a piece).

The only drawback was that there was no English menu available and communication with the staff was not easy as it seemed to be a restaurant primarily for the locals and not necessarily for tourists, which i a way can also be a good sign - when in Rome...when in Malaga do as their people do!

We ate here two times, the first time was really good, the seabass was cooked to perfection, the langoustines and shrimps were great, and the oyster was also nice. The second lunch was not as good as the first one but was still ok.

We were twice here. Both times we enjoyed excellent food, very well cooked. Very fresh sea food actually. Excellent, fast serving. They were nice, attentives and gave us good advices about selection of food.

We were really disappointed with the quality of the food in Marisqueria La Major. The scallops were overcooked, whilst the large prawns (more like Langostines) were undercooked and unpleasant to eat. The waiters did not communicative well (even taking into account our lack of Spanish) and became hostile when the food was criticised. Not a pleasant experience - we couldn't leave soon enough!

Attentive staff, happy to book us a taxi back to centre of Malaga. It arrived within 2 minutes. We had monkfish as the main dish. Price and quality superb

Very disappointing. Probably made a bad choice with the Paella which was obviously re-heated. It was watery, lacked flavour and the langoustines were over cooked to the point of mush. A great shame as a starter of anchovies with tomatoes promised much. A complete let down, especially as we took s taxi from central Malaga to visit.
Might be being harsh, but if you go stick to the fresh fish. Paella was one of the worst we have ever had.

Fantastic Spanish fish restaurant. We were made very welcome. It’s worth getting taxi there. Typically starts livening up after 10pm. But equally as good earlier. Authentic local fish fresh from the market and amazing Iberian ham. Very reasonable prices.

Previous reviews do not tell you that the Restaurent is a long way out of the centre and so add Eur 25 taxi fare to the cost. The fish may be fresh but it is not well cooked or presented. The food is greasy, fried, and way over salted. The restaurant has no atmosphere and the excessive number of staff give the impression that they expect you to only be there for a short time.
Sadly, the most disappointing meal in Malaga so far.
