Really tasty Italian homemade pasta served in elegant fine-dining style. Loved the burrata with fennels, spaghetti della luciana and riso acquerello, and finish off the meal with Cafe speciale. Certainly a hidden gem waiting to be discovered!

We were blown away by our first visit to Materia Lab 4 months ago and were hoping to repeat our experience on our return - we were not disappointed! The food is amazing, you just want to savour every mouthful. Enza is a very friendly and welcoming host, we didn't get to see Andrea (the chef) this time but wow - what a talent! We will definitely be back when, hopefully, the premises will have had a makeover - they deserve better! Thank you both for a wonderful evening.

Second time at Materia Lab. We have tasted different dishes this time and loved every bite of them! Andrea is such a gifted chef and Enza a wonderful host. We will be back again and again.

Excellent Italian food - especially the pastas. Innovative and beautifully plated. Ambiance is very casual, definitely not a date night or posh night type of place. Service was fast and efficient. Go for octopus sphaghetti, and the cod main. Both were delicious.

Food for the soul! A great choice of ingredients and flavours combined together. For instance pork and pear pasta wrapped into a delicious home made tortelloni. I went with a massive craving of Galician Octopus and I certainly wasn’t disappointed, DELICIOUS! Service 10/10, welcoming, knowledgeable, warm, efficient and so passionate about what they do! Andrea in the kitchen and Enza on the floor thank you for such a great evening!

Absolutely lovely food, very creative dishes and excellent service. It was at tea time, so very quiet, but that didn't distract from the creativity and quality put into the dishes. Happy to recomm end.

This is NOT a restaurant!!! It's a cheap cafe serving food. I booked dinner for me and my friend here as it had wonderful reviews but, we were in for an unpleasant surprise! The tiny place is flooded with horrible corner shop lighting and we were seated between the big industrial metal food counters on a tiny wobbly garden table - on cheap plastic garden chairs. To add to the awful ambience the staff member had 5 of his dodgy mates hanging out by the counter, listening to load rap music from his mobile phone and drinking alcohol from plastic cups and the staff member were cleaning loudly around us. A shockingly bad experience! The food was absolutely incredible but the experience as a whole were completely ruined by the joke surrounding and that group of horrific people hanging out in there. A real shame as food quality and taste was terrific.

Dear Tanja, thanks for bringing this to our attention and for your time. First of all we are very sorry to hear that. On TheFork it does specifically says that the place is located in a market space and is not even a coffeeshop. Everyone has his own unit with individual businesses (as I've explained to you), the space is to share and the guy mentioned with his friends is not part of our staff but was running his own business in the market. Also I did mentioned what they were celebrating and normally the vibe is not that, it was an exception as the guy was leaving the place forever, so no working here anymore but we are sorry still. I was serving you and also I've asked you personally to change table (not garden one) to be more comfortable but my offer was declined. Overall,we are glad to hear that the food was incredible and I'm now wondering why you haven’t mentioned all this to me as you seems to be fine and happy,I would of done something and it’s a shame.Take care and hope to see you again

The restaurant is part of a market and a little bit difficult to spot. Like treasures, it was worth looking for it. We loved everything chef Andrea prepared for us and Enza was lovely and very friendly. The dishes had a great taste and presentation. It is not touristic Italian food, you can see that Andrea and Enza love what they are doing. We will definitely go there again. P.S. good wine, too!

The food and service were great and this is clearly a passion project by the couple who run it. The room is really a coffee shop in a food court, a bit draughty and with more noise than in a traditional restaurant, but it was a really great experience. Such good value and service you can't help but leave a large tip.

It is an excellent Italian restaurant. They don't want to go all classic, they're bringing something new. It's unfortunate to be in such a quiet market, this place should always be full. I'm comming back and I hope that in the future, I'll be back to their own restaurant.
