9.5/10Specifically we were looking for some lunar new year anbience. After contacting two other advertised Chinese restaurants with little enthusiasm. Came across Me Wah. The place was buzzing. On a Sunday night. The staff was efficient , friendly. The clientele - mainly of Chinese origin- obviously knew the best place to be. The food was made of fresh ingredients, Well presented and tasty. We had the seafood basket and a beef dish, But observed that fresh lobster was offered . Well worth a visit.

9.5/10The food was fantastic and all served individually to the four of us who dined. It was reasonably priced and a good wine list. The service was excellent.

8.5/10Restaurant was a good find, sea scallops were amazing! The duck sang Choy bao was also good, the “Peking duck” was ok (for us). E-fu noodles was well done!

10/10Wonderful meal with Michelin level service that is not easy to find in Australia. Attentive yet unintrusive wait staff and manager. They got the balance just right! Delicious fine Cantonese cuisine. We loved the Buddha Chicken, Peking duck, steamed crab meat dumplings, egg yolk prawns and xo scallops. Matched very well with Tasmanian sparkling wine. Will try their Hobart restaurant to compare!

10/10On an extremely busy night, the service was great, although for us it was a little slow, but that was to be expected. This didn't bother us at all as we completely understood. Food was great. What was totally unexpected and a lovely end to the evening was the complimentary fried ice cream for my husband's birthday. Keep it up you're doing everything right.

10/10The best Chinese restaurant in town and a great place for a special occasion meal. We have dined here many times and it never fails to deliver. The menu is extensive but we prefer one of the 3 banquets on offer to make choosing so much easier.

9.5/10The food was exceptional and the service was a match. We had a large group and it didn’t diminish the standards of this first class establishment. We will definitively return.

10/10Wow - simply incredible food and service. My husband and I shared everything and it was all excellent. For starters we had the peking duck pancakes (filled with LOTS of duck - very generous and incredibly succulent and tasty) and the Char Siu (roasted sliced tenderloins of Scottsdale pork, honeyed soya, maltose, candied walnuts - such a wonderful combination of flavours). Our main course was the mount buddha chicken (deboned oven roasted chicken fillets with diced coriander, fresh chilli, garlic & ginger in vinegar dressing, garnished with strips of sugar coated baby bok choy leaves - which was delicious and enjoyed with plain rice) and gai larn (Chinese broccoli wok tossed with ginger garlic purée and a little chilli). Yum, yum, yum ! We left with full bellies after a wonderful evening. I should mention the peking duck pancakes and mount buddha chicken came already portioned so my husband and I had our own dishes - sensational and very thoughtful. Our waitress, Jasmine, was extremely attentive and professional. And of course, Stanley is a brilliant maitre-de flitting between all the tables and ensuring everything was perfect for all. Drinks were well priced and we enjoyed a Leeuwin Estate riesling.

9.5/10Food was top quality and delicious. Dumpling entree was sensational. Tassie seafood, meat and wine features prominently on menu. Try the salmon sashimi and the ginger scallops. Staff were great and had very good recommendations. We loved our meal here and you should go!

8/10The service was excellent from the welcome to the serving of drinks-the menu items were fantastic and the entrees lived upto expectations however the mains were disappointing - not very tasty even though they were drowning in sauce - unfortunate as it spoiled what should have been an enjoyable evening

Dedicated to bringing out the best of traditional cantonese cooking, this sophisticated restaurant offers the best of fine dining in Launceston. With traditional artwork lining the walls and embellished wooden chairs, you'll understand why this spot has become a local favourite.
The menu boasts a variety of options, from banquets, a la carte, yum cha and of course, desserts! These guys have taken traditional dishes and made them even better (if that's possible!). Perkins Bay Abalone, Mount Buddha Chicken and Wagyu cubes are a must try. If stepping out of your comfort zone isn't the thing for you, the traditional dishes are still on offer!
Best Dish: Sea scallops, steamed with ginger, spring onions, seasoned soya.
