The drinks were very good, fun and creative. We went to the bar after we paid for dinner to enjoy more. I think the bartenders work very hard there (and dealt with some classic Sunday-Night-Hotel-Bar drama during it. Hang in there!!) Dinner: It was by no means a bad experience, but we did go on Sunday evening, so things were pretty dead (not many customers). Although it seemed slow, our drinks didn't come out until the main course, and it was difficult to get their attention for additional orders or confirmation that we were ready for our meal (probably partly the cultural difference, we are still learning to wave servers down more aggressively). The food was alright, my steak was ordered medium rare but appeared medium. I am probably just a picky American about steaks, so that's my own fault! Everyone was very friendly, but service was slow enough that I simply enjoyed the meal rather than have it replaced. Overall didn't feel as special as online ratings would have suggested, but a perfectly good experience!

High quality meat and very attentive staff. I found the lighting concept a bit too dark and the music a bit too loud. Other than that we had a terrific evening. Thank you!

One of the best places in town for eating steak. From the starters to the meat selection, a lot of alternatives and the quality is really high. The service was impeccable. The only downside was that there were several tables with young children and at one moment it resulted a bit loud/annoying.

overrated. A sad story. Either the person who cooks the meat doesnt know how to cook or the way they handle the meat is unprofessional. Both way is bad anyway. Total disappointment..

Wir sind Stammgäste in der meatery. Leider passt die Qualität der Beilagen seit Oktober 22 nicht mehr. Zwiebelringe mal roh, zuviel Teig, zu schwarz...Selleriepüree mal ohne Sellerie, mal ohne Salz, mal undefinierbarer Geschmack...Sehr schade. Der Service macht es wieder wett, aber wir waren nun die letzten 3 Male nicht zufrieden

We have not been to Meatery for quite some years so we looked forward to the visit. Our servant was nice! But she came with a quite warm redwine not near 16-17 degrees. She offered to cool it down but it meant about half an hour without any wine. Eventually - after 1 hour - the wine was cooled down to an acceptable level. We ordered all 4 tatars - unfortunately we got a piece of bad tuna in that part. That piece tasted like old/bad fish. My husbands T-bone was ordered medium-rare but a great part of the filet was mostly welldone. By the bone it was as ordered. At a professional steakhouse we would expect such a large steak to be well prepared. We used to have good experiences with Meatery but must admit that next time we’ll rather go to Theos. It may have been pure bad luck this time but there were too many of them in one evening.

The lovely girl waiter was really good. Helped well wuth wine and attention to our table! The food was excellent as always! We will for sure come back when returning to Hamburg.

Um es kurz zu machen: es hat uns wie immer richtig gut gefallen. Wir gehen nicht versehentlich immer wieder hin. Die Steaks sind die leckersten, die wir bislang whereever bekommen haben.

The couple next to us was loud and with plenty of available tables, there is no need to sit so close. Also the bearnaise were not as good as before and too small portion (we asked for more)

In dem Restaurant stimmt alles. Service, Essen und Ambiente. War wieder toll. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Kalbsjus. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne.
