About the restaurant Metro Bistro - Templo de Debod

"Next to the Parque del Oeste in Madrid stands the Metro Bistro restaurant, a modern cooking concept that unfolds in a modern and relaxed minimalist atmosphere.

Very well made and innovative dishes - Matias (the owner) has obviously given great care in finding ingredients and cooking them, and has traditional Spanish ingredients that not even many Spanish know about / tasted before (my Spanish girlfriend told me this). The owner has taken influence from dishes all over the world and made his own innovative and Spanish touch to them (i.e. the sweet and sour pork dish).

Service is amazing as well - upon seeing I only ordered one main dish to share between two people, they professionally separated the food into two dishes (so we had half a main each). I've never seen this level of care before, even in upscale / 5 star restaurants.

Caution, however - the restaurant will give you compulsory bread and an 'aperitif' as well as candies after your meal. Although they are delicious, they are not free (around 2 euros per head) and they don't tell you of it beforehand.

Nonetheless, great restaurant that I will have no trouble recommending to anyone.

Fantastic food. The waiter was as passionate and enthusiastic in presenting the food and wines as we were consuming it. Very considerate service.

Good quality - nice wine list. A bit out of the center. Not a lot of people where there.

The restaurant is small but very cosy. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. In addition to the food they offered selection of breads, olive oil, and a little pisco sour cocktail.
