10/10Amazing service. Bruno ( our host ) was amazing explaining in detail all the different options in the menu. Alice who receive us in the beginning and during the dinner was also very supported. The sommelier ( sorry as I missed her name ) was also available during all the dinner. We tried the 8 plates menu and was really interesting. The joint between Japanese food with Portuguese food was really interesting.

10/10Over the course of 4 hours, the chef and staff presented us with incredible examples of Japanese cuisine with a small Portuguese flair. Each moment was unique and delicious. The service was incredible.

10/10An amazing combination of Portugiese Food prepared Japanese Style. Great Service on a very few table with a nice view, even when it is dark outside. Limited wine selection but here is Sake the choice.

9/10Lousy first impression. The hotel lobby smells sewage, the view from the table is through dirty window panes onto a a boring garden. BUT the food rapidly catches it all up. We had the extensive tasting menu. Each new dish is pure excitement for all your senses. The very sympathetic chef comes to the table and explains the dishes and the making of them. The ultimate discovery is the dessert - matching sweet and "sea". The tasting menu is an absolute bargain. The unpleasant rôle of making margin comes to the sommelière. Unreasonable mark ups on supermarket grade products served in low grade Spiegelau glasses somewhat spoils the experience. The first reference we choose was out of stock, the proposed alternative had nothing to do with the original. Further on, we had to refuse a badly made wine and ended up drinking a crowd pleaser from Esporao - which unfortunately did not match the plates. There is nothing wrong with making money on beverage. But please bother a minimum for proposing value. Portugal features so many small wine producers with exceptional bottles.

6.5/10I was really looking forward to trying Midori during my visit to Portugal. However, maybe my expectations were too high. The staff was extremely courteous and professional. They each did a great job in explaining every dish and answering any questions we had, but the actual taste for most of the dishes were way too salty for my liking. I was drinking so much water because many of the dishes were so salty that I was very full a little more than halfway through the meal. I couldn’t concentrate on the other ingredients because of the saltiness, but the presentation of every dish was really beautiful at least. The nigiri pieces were alright. A bit too much rice vinegar in my rice so the rice balls were breaking apart as soon as I tried to pick up each piece with my fingers. The first tuna piece with the grated smoked dried tuna was overpowered by the smokiness, and it also made it salty. All the other pieces were fine, but nothing mindblowing. I appreciated the thought behind each dish with trying add a hint of Portuguese to a Japanese plate, but not my preference in the way most were executed. Glad I got to try but I’ll probably start feeling very thirsty any time I think back to this dinner.

8/10The food was good but out of all the Michelin experiences I had it was the weakest. Some of the dishes weren't well balanced and there was no WOW moment.

10/10Uma experiência fantástica e um menu efetivamente diferente para um estrela Michelin em Portugal. Apresentação muito boa e a qualidade superou a expectativa. Vale a pena a vista e voltar para degustar o segundo menu.

10/10Serviço 5 estrelas. A comida é uma fusão japonesa com inspiração portuguesa e está muito bem confeccionada. Ambiente romântico em plena serra de Sintra.

10/10Wow, what an experience! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was just perfect. The food was intriguing, creative, subtle, intense, all at the same time. I just wanted to stay longer, to keep experiencing the flavors again and again.

10/10A recent Michelin Star has placed this small restaurant on the gastronomic map. Located outside Sintra is Midori: a fusion of Luso and Japanese culinary ingredients from two great seafaring culture. The service is second to none, the ambiance, facing a Japanese zen garden is mystical. All the while consuming what has been perhaps one of the best meals of my life. I was whisked back to the term: hic sunt dracones, (here be dragons) as I had entered the unknown. Thank you chef for sharing your vision and thoughts with us, your fellow culinary travelers.

10/10Excellent dinner at Midori, a perfect blend of Japanese and Portuguese cuisines. Great products and technique. The mushroom and truffle oshazuke is mandatory.
