    The food was great. We had mushrooms and goat cheese as a starter which were absolutely delicious. We continued with salmon and chicken as a main course which we could have cut with a spoon considering how soft they were. I repeat myself saying that the food was mind blowing. However, as every good culinary experience, it can never be as great when its delivered poorly. There was only one guy taking orders, serving, answering call etc. So we understood this might have also not been easy for him. There is a limit also to understanding though. He was rushing every table and did not show any empathy at all with any of the guests (or that's what we felt). With us, it just seemed that everything he cared about was that we ordered, ate and left in the shortest time possible. He brought us wine without even giving an explanation, poured water so fast it spilled all over the table, did not wait for us to call him but constantly came pretending we already knew what to eat and drink. He did not even make an effort to change his attitude when we tried to let him feel it. So all we can say is that it's really a pity that such magnificent food was delivered by such unpleasant service.

    The food served by The restaurant is great but the service was disappointed there is a problem with the bank card But the waiter have no patience to wait at all.

    Menu in French, but waiter translated in English for us. Service was very good. Everyone love their food. For me, it was a little salty, but food here tends to be more salty. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

    Many TripAdvisor reviews told me that this was the best spot to eat in Lausanne - I would have to agree with them. This cozy spot (easily accessible by the Lausanne-Flon Mètro stop) was the perfect place to finish off our quick but packed trip to Lausanne. Our waiter was so kind guiding us through the French-only menu, and his recommendations were phenomenal. Get the ceviche and the duck - you’ll thank me later! Give Minuit Soleil a try if you’re looking for a dinner spot in Lausanne (be sure to make a reservation) - bon apetit!

    Arrived at 8 and place was full of locals by 8:30. Menu in French but waiters were helpful. Food was good but not memorable. Friend goat cheese starter was delicious with very fresh vegetables. By husband’s chicken was very tender and had a nice sauce, but polenta was dry and flavorless. My tuna was cooked perfectly could have used a sauce, and couscous was flavorless. Loved the vegetables though.

    Great menu. Staff very helpful translating French menu to English speakers. Very good food. Swiss Syrah was a winner. Entrees to generous for desert

    We made a 6:30 reservation using the Fork app and then when we got there the waiter told us the kitchen didn’t open until 7:00. So we sat and enjoyed a drink. The appetizers were good (caprese and crab tartare) and the Caesar salad was good, but our main course (chorizo stuffed chicken) was dry and came with a sauce that didn’t save the dish. To top it off, the waiter asked when we paid with a card hoe much tip we wanted to leave. I’m American and living in Lausanne so yes, Americans can tip, but not customary to in Switzerland so I felt he thought we were tourists and he tried to take advantage of us. Bad ending to a meal that was underwhelming.

    Service was great. Food was okay. My fillet was stringy and not very tender. My wife's fish was good. Starters were fine but nothing to write home about. We had some other amazing meals at the same price point which highlighted what was lacking here.

    Excellent vegetarian food (vegetarians, even non-vegetarians, try the "symphony"!), very pleasant terrace, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely recommend it.

    I ordered the prawn entre - 4pcs for CHF 49....quite expensive. The lamb dish was good, so was the cold guspacho. It was a hot day, so atmosphere was not best. But overall nice place with helpful waiter.

    Food was good, bit pricy in my opinion (but might be Lausanne). I had a lovely piece of beef. The salad that came with a lot of the dishes was a bit disappointing though (poor presentation and dressing) The waitress was lovely though! We were also a bit disappointed there was a child crying / screaming quite a bit of the time which affected the ambiance.

    We were very disappointed by this highly ranked restaurant. There was one poor waiter who did an amazing job trying to manage everyone. However the big let down wax the sub standard food. Avoid.

    We booked the table less than 30 minutes before we arrived and there were more people at the restaurant than they had expected so there was only one waiter, Arnaud on duty. He was obviously very busy but did a very good job, trying to please everyone and compensate for the long wait

About the restaurant

VERSION GASTRO – Ouvert fin 2002, le Minuit Soleil a déjà ses adeptes, réunis autour d’une certaine cuisine du Sud, dans une ambiance ensoleillée. L’Atelier des Saveurs s’adresse aux plus esthètes d’entre eux et les reçoit dans l’intimité du premier étage.

NI CARTE, NI MENU - … mais une déclinaison de produits selon l’arrivage et l’inspiration du jour. Sébastien Rithner (Prix-découverte Suisse Romande Gault & Millau 2008) pratique une cuisine d’instinct, inspirée par les saisons. Il appelle cela “menu surprise” ou “menu éphémère”. L’agenda est relativement confidentiel mais les fanatiques finissent toujours par s’y retrouver !

À SUIVRE – Saint-Valentin, Saint-Sylvestre… Les fauteuils de l’Atelier des Saveurs se remplissent irrésistiblement aux dates phares du calendrier gastronomique car les menus sont exceptionnels.
