About the restaurant Montreux Jazz Café

We had the tartare de boeuf and the monkfish. Both were extremely tasty. The side dishes were unfortunately rather standard. The desserts were good but not exceptional. There's a good price/quality ratio. The service was Ok

A wonderful experience dining in the brilliant surroundings of the jazz cafe. The sound of the live jazz coming from Funky Claudes next door set the mood for dinner and the good was presented beautifully. The Serivice was as it should be for a restaurant of this calibre and the venue had plenty of atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere special to eat in Montreux.

This restaurant met our (high) expectations. The food is refined and very tasty while the portions are sufficient for a good eater. The staff was very attentive and made us feel special but still with a relaxed attitude. The venue is fantastic and is part of the montreux palace hotel. I recommend starting the evening in the bar of the hotel upstairs, roof terrace with views over the lake, the cocktails are great.
Highly recommended place overall.

This was a wonderful dining experience all around! We were a group of 19; I made the reservation a day ahead of time, and they were very accommodating. The food and service were both excellent, and it was made even better by the talented jazz musicians and lovely decor. Highly recommend!

This was one of our best dinners in Montreaux ( see Cafe Trois for other). Great service, my own gluten free bread basket, and greatly prepared food. It had wonderful local wines and was very accommodating to our pickiness! Portion sizes were very good also.

The food here is great. A little on the pricey side, but we're in Montreux and it's definitely better value for the quality than many places there. Salmon starter was lovely.

For me, my meal was ruined by the staff's decision to seat a noisy family of two parents and two young children - one a very loud disaffected chappy on the table next to me. The restaurant was empty except for me and one other table. There was no reason other than making their life easy to do this and it removes all pleasure from my meal. The disturbance and being constantly stated at by a small child were just too much and I had to cut short my meal and leave. I've no problem with kids in restaurants; the staff need not have seated them there as it was apparent from the moment the chap announced himself before he appeared at the door that they weren't going to be quiet!

Service was, at first, attentive and friendly. For reasons I don't understand, once that party were sat down, it deteriorated, despite the number of serving staff doubling.

On reflection, I should have booked in at a busier time when I would have been more likely to be near to quieter diners.
