We booked for an early 530 dinner on a Monday night and it was super quiet???? Saw the seniors meals special ($16-$21) + add on chefs special dessert +small coffee for $8. Service attentive and fast, great quality food for the price! Most be a local favourite as it sure got noisier as the night got on!

Always enjoyable atmosphere; tables are not too close in these covid times and it is possible to relax without other people breathing on you. The caesar salad would have been better if fresh cos had been used instead of stale lettuce that was brown and decaying.

Sticky table. Food was cold . Salad was mixed lettuce leaves 1/4 tomatoe 3 slice’s onion horrible dressing.steak was tender. Sorry won’t be back

It has been sometime since we have been to this restaurant but had heard that it had been refurbished. We met there for a family dinner, The restaurant was smaller than I remembered . There were several staff on but they were not very attentive when it came to checking on our group, ensuring we had napkins , side plates (when we ordered bread) and bottled water for the table. .They were friendly when delivering our meals thou. The meal sizes were adequate but one of our steaks was dry and the chips on all the steak meals were cold. The burger came out on the smallest plate with the fries just fitting on it. We would return to the restaurant for the food but would hope that staff were better trained.

Great food! We had a lunch catch up with 4 families with kids and booked because of the playground. We couldn’t use it because it had been hired out for a private function which was very disappointing for the kids.

The restaurant had got my booking when I arrived. I just ordered a mocktail for myself, and it was so beautiful. The place was quiet and the staff were nice and helpful. Must come again in future.

MGH is our 'go to' local for counter meals, with (usually) decent quality meals and the benefit of games room plus outdoor play area to keep kids busy. Our recent visit was disappointing, with bacon/cheese bread coming out with other meals, a very average tasting chicken pizza, and the games room needed attention (TV's rarely turned on, and the video games table had issues with its credits plus the joystick seems to not work properly).

Hi Andrew, Thanks for the feedback. We are in the process of updating the kids area so please watch this space! I'm sorry about the entree situation - I will address this with the staff. We have changed to a more casual dining environment with the beacon service so generally all the meals arrive at the same time but I understand where you are coming from and we endeavour to have the entrees out first.

We went to the tavern and we really did not expect the service. The food was perfect as usual, but we were highly satisfied with the service provided by the Asian lady.

Good quality pub tucker. High quality steaks and sides. Very pleasant spot for a relaxed lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable without being cheap.

The chips were cold but the rest of the meal was really good! We had to wait for our entree which meant we got our meals at the same time. I hope it was just the night we went and it’s not regular practice.

We keep coming back as a family again and again. Generous servings, cooked right, tastes awesome, fresh and a feeding a family of four for around $20 a head (2 adults + 2 x 9yr old boys) you can’t go wrong. Food is served super fast if you can arrive before the rush of regulars later, but even then, your wait is half of what you’d expect. Staff always super friendly and willing to help if you have anything specific you’d like. Great kids play and entertainment area are a bonus.
