Enjoyable evening at a nice restaurant serving good food - steaks were lovely
Extremely kind people, beautiful place, very professional, great food .... meet was extremely tender and the prawns very tasty and all fresh. Thank you for the great moment. I hope it will stay the same until our next trip to Portugal :-)
Top notch lovely place
After reading rave reviews I was rather underwhelmed by our dinner here. The welcome was lovely, and we had good guidance from the waiting team to help us choose drinks and wines. However, all the food for me was horribly over-salty, the "rosti " looked and tasted like frozen product and not fresh prepared, a tiny portion of over-cooked vegetables seemed a mean, miserable accompaniment to the meal. The room is cluttered with old furniture and nik-naks, the chairs are hard, and the lighting is way too bright and harsh. The background music is a terrible pop mix on a repeat CD which becomes annoying by time your main course is served. The place is all a bit old-fashioned and stuck in a time-warp. My husband loved it.....so I didn't make too much complaint at the time, I didn't want to spoil our evening out.....but then he's also a bit old-fashioned and stuck in a time-warp!
Overall a great place to go. We have bèn there 5 times this year and have always been very happy with their product.
As usual an excellent meal. This will always be one restaurant we will go to every year.
Superb service, high quality food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Our 4th time back and never disappoints. The steaks were cooked superbly and the sauces excellent. Well done all the waiting staff for making my wife’s 50th birthday memorable.
Excellent Experience ,Good Value
I have been coming to Mr Freddie's since the 1980's when the original owner opened it. Although it has changed hands a few times over the years, the food and atmosphere have always been excellent. My first time under the new ownership but I still could not fault anything and consider the restaurant as one of my favorites.
This the seventh year we have been here and as usual the food and the service was well above par. As far as the family goes we couldnt get a better steak anywhere else than here.Keep it up
Fantastic food, service and value. Hidden gem! The Algarvian Prawns were excellent and Crepes from the flambé station added a little theatre, our 6 year old loved the flames!

We have never been disappointed when visiting Mr Freddies.The food is exceptional staff are so lovely and very welcoming. The steaks are so tasty and tender.The Dover sole is a delight. Would definately recommend .
Really amazing. We havn't visited for a few years, big mistake, Mr Freddie's is as great as ever and we will make sure to visit every time we are in that area of the Algarve. The steaks are the best, cooked by Francesco who never seems to get a single mark on his pristine white shirt! The recommended wine is a must, they know what they are talking about.
Visited twice during our stay in August/September using the fork offer and both visits were excellent. Have been to this restaurant several times before in previous years and it has always lived up to expectations. The flambé steak was superb, well worth a visit.
Always a pleasure - a warm welcome, superb staff, excellent food, good choice of wine, the flambé cooking is a great attraction and a lovely atmosphere - value for money!
Very good service (although a little too regimented) staff could relax a little and be more sincere rather than just doing their job. Food was excellent, beautiful presented and very tasty. Not a cheap eat but worth the money.
Having read the reviews I thought that this would be a fantastic place for dinner- how wrong I was. The staff are welcoming and attentive. The ambience is road side cafe- plastic tables and chairs,, out dated water feature and a guy in the corner on the flambé. Previous customers had thrown money in the fountain- this must be as a wish to never come back!! The menu too is outdated... we had the scallops which nicely cooked but in some weird think sauce all presented with asparagus, tomato and orange.... the main course was see bass. It was served with one head of broccoli, two small florets of cauliflower and two slices of carrot. To be fair after the scallops we were both losing our appetites quite quickly and couldn’t stomach the main course. We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat dessert. Mr Freddie’s is stuck in the 1970’s. Food that needs updating and modernising, Decor that requires the same - this was the most expensive meal we have had since arriving in Portugal and was by far the worst.
a bit like going back to the 70s Steak was nice Desert Sicilian catalna-stodgy out side,should be crisp but not very tasty. Just needs to be modernised
Lovely setting. The terrace is a delight and the food and service equally delightful. Food very good quality and portions were substantial. Son has a nut allergy and staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our food,it was really amazing! Our kids are very picky and at first look at the menu,were moaning! However,when their food came they were really happy and they really enjoyed it ,how could they not! We had a super evening, The food was fabulous and the service was excellent, the setting was beautiful too! We will be back!
Very welcoming and attentive service in a lovely outdoor garden. Great food all round. Highlight of the night was the fillet steak; cooked rare and probably the best steak I've ever had. Tender, succulent and great flavour. Good value for money and well worth a visit.

Food some of the best around the area but very odd setting. Says fine dining but plastic chairs! Service not great, had to ask for our candles to be lit then ask for the wine. Waitress didn’t crack a smile. But saying that excellent food.
