About the restaurant Mr Wong

Layered with timeless colonial furnishings including timber floors with tiled inlay, bamboo framed French woven chairs and slow turning ceiling fans, Mr. Wong pays homage to classic Chinese influences in a contemporary style. The Cantonese-style menu features over 60 dishes including Chinese roasted duck, faux Shark Fin Soup and Abalone served Steamboat style, as well as an unrivalled dim sum selection.

Sprawled over two levels, Mr. Wong is one of the largest restaurants in the northern end of the Sydney CBD. It offers a range of dining options varying from private dining rooms and large group tables, through to intimate tables for two and seating at the open kitchen.

Located within an easy walk of trains, buses and parking stations, it’s perfectly placed for a quick lunch time snack, pre and post theatre suppers, late night dining, large celebratory events and family get-togethers.

Mr Wong has never failed for us. Consistently good service and food and friendly but not familiar staff. A great selection of food and wine and reasonably priced. Thank you!

Food was great and staffs are nice and well-trained. Perfect except that it was not easy to draw serving staffs attention. Probably they should hire more staffs.
But it was a good experience in general. I wish to come back soon.

Absolutely fantastic dining experience. We had limited time due to flights so arrived at 10:30 for brunch. All dishes we tried were exceptional, staff were knowledgeable and very professional, Will be back for sure next time in Sydney.

Delicious yum cha! Menu is quite limited before 12pm to just dumplings, fried snacks and rice noodle rolls. If you are after the roasted meats and other dishes come for lunch. Best in Sydney.

Food was good, unfortunately the service was very chaotic and mixed up half our orders. Had our food before we got our sparking water... had 3 times a change in waiters. Luckily the last waitress did an amazing job in undoing the mix ups the two waiters had put in place before hand..

Staff was friendly, environment was chic but unfortunately, the food quality was average (if not slightly below average given the price) and generally everything was so overpriced that I cannot give it a higher score.
The food is not bad, but it was VERY average. Expect everything here to be overpriced.
I was here with a colleague for lunch and ordered mostly from their dim sum menu. We did not order any drinks and our bill was almost $200 for the two of us.
If you know your dim sum and Cantonese food well, you will immediately notice that their dim sums are nothing special (and in fact tastes the same as some of the local dim sum restaurants as they came from the same supplier). Mr Wong's pricing is even higher than 5-star hotels in Hong Kong, and I would be happy to pay if the quality of the food itself was there.
Their supposedly famous peking duck is very average - sauce is not authentic, pastry is over dried, and duck was not fresh. Quite disappointing.
Also suggest to stay away from the BBQ pork bun as the BBQ pork tasted a bit stale.

Good range of food and tastes delicious, however its slightly overpriced. Its more of a fusion Yum Cha rather than a Traditional Yum Cha experience.

Like dim sum such as "prawn and crispy dough rice roll, Lobster and scallop dumpling..." very much. King crab fried rice is awesome and it keeps hong kong style.
