Pocos, pero bien avenidos, podría ser el lema de este restaurante de cocina tradicional vasca que tan solo tiene ocho mesas disponibles y al que acude a comer un público entendido y muy exigente. De su variada carta, elaborada por el maestro Egaña, nos lo comeríamos todo: sus platos de cuchara, sus arroces, los pescados y los postres de escándalo. Además, este restaurante puede presumir de ser la única opción de gastronomía de calidad apta para celíacos, porque su carta es 100% gluten free. El foie fresco de las landas, laminado y con puré de manzana asada y reducción de sidra está de muerte, al igual que el arroz con almejas y bacalao o las manitas de cerdo rebozadas y en salsa bizkaina. ¡Brutal!

Booked last minute for 2 and whilst we’re not Gluten intolerant, the quality of the food and it’s local basque influence were a welcome break from the more obvious fried food. The char-grilled vegetable & goat cheese starter was excellent and easily enough for 2.
The maitre’d was welcoming and insightful in directing us through the varied menu.
Overall I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to those looking for a healthier and special dining experience.

This was a New Years Eve late lunch reservation, that completely overwhelmed us. Jose, our dedicated wait staff was exceptional; he offered suggestions, explanations and service worthy of a Michelin starred restaurant.
Our food was really superb.
The Duck Foie Amuse Bouche....wonderful.
All four of us chose the fish and clam soup. Delicious!
2 T bone steaks, cooked to perfection, hake and clams & hake and cod 3-ways.
Followed by strawberry shortcake dessert.
Wine choice was also superb.
The intimate and yet completely comfortable atmosphere, with just a handful of tables, was just right.
This experience really made our day! Thank you

The place is warmly decorated. Like a family restaurant. Foodie good and served in good timing not too fast.

The Rice wit Lobster was disappointed. There was no meat in the Lobster and Very little taste. But the service was great. It is quite expensive also for Bilbao standards

My wife and I had booked a table for our anniversary - and were not disappointed. Very friendly service, very tasty food, good recommendations, we'd go to Nebak Jatetxea again, when visiting Bilbao again.

This was a super place with lovely touches like different salts to complement the meal. Very knowledgable staff and delicious food and bread- wonderful to have all gluten free options and you would never know as wonderful flavours and original dishes. Generous portions too- would definately go again-

As other diners mentioned, the lobster in the pot was simply amazing and must try. It could easily be shared with three persons. Really liked the small cozy restaurant and dining experience. The service was top rated. We'll be back the next time in Bilbao.

Traditional meal with wine and beer. We enjoyed the evening but found the food quite niche. Very few vegetables
with meat or fish based dishes. Enjoyed my meal personally but issues with a couple of our group. One tough steak which was sent back a free dessert and the cost taken off the bill. Another dish was described as greasy. Overall the ambiance was excellent but food a little inconsistent.

A small but beautifully formed gem, staff were welcoming, attentive but not intrusive. Decor is elegant and warmly lit, making for an intimate dining experience. We had our best meal in Spain here and would seek this excellent restaurant out again. Food is interesting and beautifully cooked and presented, It’s not cheap but portions are good and satisfying. Thoroughly recommend the Pepper, anchovy and tuna timbale starter, easily enough for two in the one portion as a starter. Monkfish was tasty and nicely cooked, beef stew rich and full of flavour. For us a lovely and memorable evening.

Hidden down a narrow street in the Old Town of Bilboa this restaurant was a complete surprise!
The waiter was very professional and friendly. Even though there wasn’t a small salad on the menu he had one made for me. The exquisite clam appetizer nearly brought me to tears! The experience overall was fantastic! I highly recommend it!

They didn’t have the turbot which was my main reason for visiting. I had the tasting menu. Food was good though with exquisite flavours. The salad was very vinegary and the vegetables were cold in 2 of the dishes, overall good.

The server was very welcoming and he took his time explaining each course and the various salts and what to use them on. I had the Monkfish and it was excellent. My husband had the beef cheeks they were tasty and tender. The portions are large so we did not have starters. It was the perfect amount of food. I would recommend.
