Ya es posible comer bien en pleno centro de Barcelona gracias a restaurantes como Negresco. Ubicado en el hotel del mismo nombre y a pocos pasos de la Plaza Urquinaona, este espacio ofrece un reducto de calma en medio del meollo. Una estética relajada de ambientación mediterránea donde comerás bien y donde podrás disfrutar de una interesante programación cultural.

El chef Jon García apuesta por una cocina mediterránea con toques de modernidad y guiños latinoamericanos, inevitables por sus raíces salvadoreñas. La materia prima, de gran calidad, proviene toda del comercio justo y de proximidad. Una carta corta pero infalible donde encontrar platos reconocibles y ricos. Todo eso maridado con un buen puñado de propuestas culturales, entre las que destaca la musical UnpluggEAT la noche de los jueves.

My parents and I were in Barcelona for 9 days, and this was the BEST meal that we had. It was the Restaurant Week menu, and it was perfect. I am actually shocked that we got that much high-quality, beautifully prepared food for 25 euros each. That meal was easily worth 75 euros each.


I don't know how helpful this review will be since our menu was only available for Restaurant Week. However, I decided to write a review because I was so impressed with the chef (who must be some kind of culinary genius) and with our server, Raul, who was professional, knowledgeable and charming throughout our meal. The dishes included flavor combinations that I NEVER could have imagined, and they were delicious! One of my favorite dishes had celery as the main component - and I normally hate celery.


I hope they figure out a way to make that menu available more often, because the creative talent in that kitchen needs to be shared with everyone on earth!!

I would have to say that this was by far the best meal we had whilst in Barcelona. The menu was really clever and all the dishes were cooked to perfection. The staff couldn't have be more friendly and professional. The only downside as we were "out of season" is that the meal is served adjacent to the reception of the hotel but in season it is served on the terrace which would be better. That said I would still happily eat there again anytime of the year.
