9.5/10Have to say the food was excellent. Prawns a must for starters, we also had sea bass, sea bream and steaks for mains, all presented and cooked to perfection. The guys front of house friendly, helpful and engaging, could not of looked after us any better. For our party of six the service, food, cocktails, wine all get a 5 from 5. Prices also friendly on the pocket. Will definitely visit again.

10/10It was our first visit to New Fat Frog and we had a very nice experience. We were greeted at the door by Ricardo who was extremely welcoming and friendly and we received great service and delicious food, especially the garlic prawns.

9/10Had been recommended to eat at The New Fat Frog, so reserved a table for 2. On arrival, there was a large function taking place, with live music, which added to the vibe of the restaurant. Unfortunately we were shown to a back room and apart from staff, there were no other diners. Having said that, the food was exceptional and the owner welcomed us warmly and our waiter was very attentive.

6.5/10I had steak and i must say was very nice but my wife had chicken and it looked awful and she said it tasted awful it looked like just bits of chicken carcass fried up but as we complained was not charged

7.5/10Exceedingly welcoming staff, food of a good quality only downside was the bouncy castle in the outside space that I’m sure during the day would be used by children but in the evening it had teenagers using them who were somewhat noisy!

7.5/10had the prawns in garlic and they were very good, followed by the hamburger which was also very good. However, my wife had the chicken curry. The sauce was weak and the chicken was tough. The service was generally good but I had to send back my guinness which was half froth, I think in general this is a Portugese thing, the drink itself never gets to the line in the glass.

10/10We just love the New Fat Frog To be greeted with a smile and warm welcome from the staff who instantly remembered us tells you a great deal about by his wonderful hidden gem. The Nee Fat Frog is off the beaten track but it’s well worth the find. We’ve never ever been disappointed with the quality of the food (or the price). With a wide variety of steaks, chicken, fish and vegetarian, there is truly something for everyone no matter their age.

7.5/10Good food - relatively simple fare done well. Very friendly team looked after us well but ambience was affected not enhanced by the live singer who was too loud making conversation around the table difficult.

8/10With the summer approaching the restraint has halted Sunday lunch and now offering rodizio . Also stopped live music - will be interesting to see how the customers react - it was very quiet on Sunday - before it was much busier ! Still worth a visit !

10/10This is a restaurant that continually raises the bar. In the few years that I have been visiting there have been many improvements, such as ambience, decor and entertainment. Two things remain consistent- service and food quality. Both among the best in the area. This place offers an exceptionally warm welcome and attentive, knowledgeable service. The menu is pretty extensive and the food quality is excellent. I would always recommend the Fish of the day!! I’m lucky to visit 4/5 times a year when I’m at my place in Almancil. We met Emily for the first time tonight, she’s a real asset to the restaurant. Just a pleasure to deal with.

9/10Food was delicious, welcoming friendly service. It was very quiet the night we went, mid-week in March. I had a superbly fresh sea bass, others had the lamb stew, which was also very good.

7/10First time visiting . We did book for 7 so knew this was early but restaurant was empty when we arrived and didn't seem ready for us. However seated quickly, order taken and meal excellent. Service was a little fragmented , wasn't clear if some staff were working or not ( one minute they were serving you next they were sitting with friends having a meal) . Music a little too loud for us personally and also putting on TV to show football was strange - maybe in the bar but not on the terrace. Food was cooked on the outside grill perfectly and couldn't fault it. Just the setting/ambience wasn't great

10/10We absolutely loved the food here... The staff were fabulous - "always yes" they kept saying. We didn't have any cocktails but they looked gorgeous from afar. There's a nice space out the back for the kids to run around, which I believe they are changing to a little playground. This one is a hidden gem. Will go again for sure.
