Staff super welcoming.... Food amazingly good... Ambiance extremely beautiful. The restaurant has 2 choices, choose plates.from.the menu or a "surprise menu experience". We went for the "surprise me" and I have to say it was the best choice ever. The quality, beauty and taste of each dish was beyond expectations! Great choice of restaurante!

We had the tasting menu and the starter and main course were delicious and of a level one would associate with Nikkei Nine. The octopus was lacking flavour and the nigiri felt underwhelming - a bit boring when there is amazing sushi to be had here! The service got confused over the dessert and brought us the wrong dishes and then the correct dishes but forgot about my food intolerance so I had to scrape the soft meringue off the dessert to eat the part that is edible for me - a messy experience. The dessert was not so impactful for me but perhaps that was because the meringue wasn't part of it. The service was very attentive and professional (although the drinks were very slow to arrive) and it was only at the dessert course that it went wayward. I'm not sure the two sittings helps the restaurant as they struggle to fit everything into the time slot and then there is no space in the bar afterwards to carry on chatting as everyone is waiting to come in for the next sitting and external guests are there. Best go for a drink beforehand (allow extra waiting time) and then eat - at least if you go at the weekend. Personally I will go a la carte next time.

Staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable about what drinks go best with the food being served for the night. Great spot for a date night. Would highly recommend.

Had a not so good experience in January due to lack of sushi. This time the sushi selection and quality was great. But most important was the service by Joao Conde. Impeccable manners and timely service. He’s a keeper.

The menu is the easiest choice and sponsors all the culinary highlights this place has to offer. The cocktails are supreme. The wine menu wasn’t too plentiful, but high on quality. Expect to pay 400-500, which was well worth it. The service was very nice and chatty, which we enjoyed.

Stunning meal of a selection of dishes to share at the suggestion of restaurant staff - certainly a great way to get to know the menu on our first visit. Great atmosphere and most importantly very attentive and friendly staff. A.very enjoyable experience we will certainly repeat.

Great food !! Especially the sushi and spinach salat with tempura. Celebrated our anniversary there and they were really kind to decorate the table for us and gave us simple yet delicious cake.

Nice ambience and setting. Everything looks posh. Food was bad though. Got the Xmas menu and its really bad tasting. Meat tough, dessert is confused and sashimi made of cheap fish. Maybe just come here for a drink and not for the food

Food and service were great, but the restaurant has to improve ventilation system if possible: the open kitchen and especially the guests frying food on their tables cause a lot of different smells .

Too expensive for what it is. We were rushed to finish dinner, it wasn’t the quality it is made to be and felt more like a cafeteria than a nice restaurant . Not worth a dinner of 250€. In Less than 2 hours. Disappointing, but the service was good.

4 people arriving. 2 are finished within 1 hour, the other 2 within 3 hours. Bad food coordination. No waiters up front on drinks. Before check in - no info about 24 hour corona test rule inside restaurants and no info about required Luca app - SO check in with bad lightening, no guidance on Luca app. and hardly no network…. And menu on QR code - also on hardly no network - but super corono friendly I agree.

Nikkei Nine was MORE than I expected. Of course I had looked at pictures in person, but experiencing this restaurant in person, it was beautiful. The ambience, the lights that decorate the ceiling was ART. Walking in the Bartender even welcomed us in (that never happens)! The waitress we had was so nice and very helpful (I wish I remembered her name). As soon as we sat down we were welcomed again; impressively she somehow knew my husband spoke German and I spoke English! lol Now the food.... LECKER! Best Cod I have ever had, such fresh tasting sushi, and the dulce dessert we had to finish was the perfect. Also, props to the bartender who was making my cocktails. Such a fun experience trying new and fun cocktails! Loved them! My husband and I will definitely return to Nikkei Nine.

Hamburg itself was a bit dark these days- people around were unwelcoming and grumpy. Nikkei Nine was a great escape from the general atmosphere in the city. They have a great atmosphere, welcoming staff and absolutely great food!

Food and ambiance were super. Majority of servants are polite and friendly. Unfortunately our waitress looked and communicated as if she came right out of a fast food restaurant. Continuously an expression as if we needed to exit ASAP. That’s not what I pay 250 euro’s for, especially not on an evening where half of the restaurant was empty. We will not return...
