10/10Wow! I was worried looking at some google reviews, how wrong I was. Let me start by saying I am married to a Japanese, that we are true International foodies and often travelling to Japan obviously for the past 20yrs as a couple . We had the Kaiseki menu (degustation, 5-6 dishes for 88€) not only the food quality and tastes were amazing (as well as quantity), service was spotless, and the quality/price ratio is also quite good compared to another “premium” Asian (hotel) restaurant not very far that we tried the day before and left a little disappointed. The wine selection was also quite good and reasonably priced for a very nice Duro white wine. We agreed this meal was one of our top 10 Japanese restaurants experience ever, so we cannot recommend it enough. This is definitely a top Madeiran restaurant on the 16th floor of the Savoy Palace hotel so dressing accordingly is recommended to fully enjoy this very nice culinary experience.

10/10We had a fabulous meal. Service was exceptional with the staff making every effort to make us feel welcome. The food was superbly prepared and was delicious. Cocktails were really awesome as well! If you like sushi you will love it here!

2/10The service is ridiculously rude. We booked through TheFork a table at 9:30 pm. The address is not accurate so we had to wander around for around 10 min to understand it is inside the savoy hotel. We arrived at the hotel lobby at 9:44 and we were told they could not assure us a table as they have a “15 min grace period”. After some phone calls and waiting for like 10 min, they made us go up, only to reject us again. Upstairs now they’re telling us they cannot give us a table as the “10 min grace period has passed”. The restaurant was clearly empty and it was possible to reserve a table later at 10:00 pm online, yet they declined us. Important to mention the staff was never polite nor offer clear explanations for anything. Ridiculous.
