This is the best fine dining Italian restaurant. The food was fresh and presented well. It was not covered in heavy sauces, very clean fresh flavour.

Our hosts, Tyller and Kath, made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. Food was delicious - ragu rich and tasty, dessert just decadent enough. Wine list excellent too. Service very well timed. Highly recommend for regular night out or special event.

Perfect in every way. It was well presented and quiet. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious and of a good size. Only problem - I didn’t have room for dessert so will need to return again.

Fantastic food, great wine, superior service and great ambience. Seriously impressive little restaurant with a genuine love for Italian food and customer care. Feeling very lucky to have found this gem on our travels when we needed a special occasion dinner.

This restaurant had great reviews - that’s why we picked it. The food was ok. Pretty standard for a fine dinning experience. Lacked a little flavour.

Absolutely loved dining here! All of the staff were lovely and attentive, filling our wine glasses throughout our meals. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and felt quite intimate. The food was divine - the lamb ragu was the best we’ve had. Definitely recommend.

A quaint restaurant in an Edwardian terrace building. Big smiles and friendly service. Food was world class with local produce that was fresh, well prepared and beautifully presented. A chic twist on classical Italian.

Small and cozy restaurant, food is good overall. The quail is one of the best I’ve had; succulent, juicy and tender meat! Definitely worth the visit just for the quail.

My husband and I have shared a number of excellent meals at Novaro's over the years and once again it didn't disappoint. The food looked and tasted amazing and the intimate seating is perfect for a date night.

About the restaurant

Take heart Novaro's is a special-event kind of place, somewhere you would like to take that special someone to create a special memory. And that memory would definitely include the divine food that is prepared and served in this establishment. With lush surrounds in the renovated Edwardian homestead, you will be warmed right through when you come in from the brisk Tasmanian air in their cosy wood firelit dining room. The area is decorated in beautiful artwork supplied by renowned local artist Junko Go, in case you're tempted to take a little bit of Tasmania home with you! Delightful local produce leaps off the pages of their menus including dishes such as creamy seafood soup (Crema frutti brodo) and Spaghettini al gamberoni (spaghetti with pan seared prawns.) Enjoy a glass or two of the local Tasmanian whites or select something from their wide list. Head Chef Nicholas Hooper takes you on a special journey with food that is best enjoyed slowly, and a lot of it. Best dish: Scaloppine alla Marsala
