After a warm welcome the owner: manager (?) who served me was polite if more than a bit brusque with her interaction. Everything was done so quickly that as a single traveller I was served and fed in under 30 mins with my two courses. My choice of food was ok if a bit salty. The couple beside me were also speedily served. I note that all tourists were located at the back of the restaurant whilst Spaniards were at the front. Would I recommend - possibly if you need a quick bite - but who does in Spain?
You dont find Bacalau (hoever you spell it) on many menus I've seen in Australia, other than in tapas croquettes, but it is abundant on the peninsula and I love it - in all its forms. T is restaurant's Bacalau "in our traditional tomato sauce" was the best I have tasted, the fish shining white and the sauce like perfect fresh tomatoes. My wife had a bacalau risotto with mushrooms and that too was beautiful. the house wine a white tempranillo (I never knew) was just right. Arriving at 7pm, my wife and I were the only diners - this is Seville on a Friday night after all -so the excellent noise level and service standards were to be expected - the staff never the kless were delightful.
Long wait for the paella which was expected but the result, although tasty. was not value for money as lacking in seafood.
Delightful small restaurant close to our hotel with innovative flavour combinations. Very good cod (as you might expect from the name). Many dishes used the Jerez vinegar, perhaps too much in some for my taste (eg in the Gazpacho) but to good effect in others. A good start to our weekend in Seville.
