This sushi restaurant is a grade A banger. We’ve ordered from it several times as a takeaway, but today was our wedding anniversairy so thought we’d check out the restaurant as a special meal during this strange times. It was everything we hoped it would be after coming out of a lockdown. The place is super cool and relaxing, the staff were great and the food was unbelievable. Thanks for making our anniversary feel slightly normal for 2020.

Tasty food in a relaxed setting. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The service was excellent, would definitely recommend and will certainly be going back again.

The food was mostly amazing but the experience really fell down on the service. Once we had placed the initial order, we never saw the server again and they seemed to make a concerted effort to avoid making eye contact with us whenever we tried to get their attention - which was most of the time we were there. I suspect this is because they operate like a café in that they bring you the bill before your food arrives, so there’s no incentive to check on the table. We went without drink refills, napkins, and soy sauce because we simply could not get a server’s attention without repeatedly going up to the counter, which completely defeats the purpose of social distancing and offering table service. To top it off, when we finally ordered mochi for dessert, after trying to get the server’s attention for over 25 minutes, we were disappointed to find that each piece had been cut in half - for £4.50, you get 2.5 mochi, as opposed to 5 pieces, as the menu implies. Lastly, who wants soft shell crab without the claws? No one! They’re the best part! The question now is whether the spicy karaage chicken makes up for the service. (It does for a second try at least)

Great little venue with lots of potential. Slightly odd that it's not waiter service to the tables and some of the chairs are wooden and uncomfortable but the food is excellent and the taste and presentation are up there with the best Japanese restaurants I've encountered. Very reasonably priced with an interesting little wine list too (where else can you get a bottle of Picpul for £20?) I'd like to see this place flourish. There aren't many high end eateries in Wood Green and it could tap into a new market. Would like to see better lighting and comfier chairs which would encourage patrons to sit longer and spend more money!
