CANTINE DE POCHE - Dans cette petite cabane au style minimaliste-chic, il y a d'abord les paniers d'huîtres en exposition, un bar en zinc et verre et de jolies tables immaculées… Avec Opium, La Cabane, la rue Dauphine a trouvé son nouveau repaire de foodistas !

EN DIRECT DE LA MER - Amateurs, foncez sur la sélection d'huîtres haute-couture : huîtres fines de claire, pousses en claire ou spéciales Utah, tout est extra-frais et savoureux. Pour le reste, la soupe de poisson ou les crevettes de Madagascar finiront de vous transporter au bord de l’océan.

The owner was very kind and gracious. The sous chef/waiter Emile was extremely helpful on our food choices and where to go while here as it was our first trip here.

We had the most fantastic experience at Opium, La Cabane. The owner and his chef are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the food that they serve. They make your experience unique by teaching you about the oysters and other menu items, as well as showing you how to properly eat the oysters. As the owner said, "only 3% of people know how to eat the oyster properly!" The atmosphere is very cozy but extremely clean with tasteful decor and design. The fish soup was remarkable, and the tiramisu (made by the owner' wife) is out of this world. Would highly recommend!

Oysters are the specialty - of several varieties from choice different regions and it's clear that they are very selective about their quality and distinctive characters. I tried only one (since I've a history of they're disagreeing with my diigestive system) and it was excellent (and I had no ill effects).. The salmon which was my main order was very well prepared as was the salad served with it. It. is a very refined cuisine and the small variety of wines available were chosen to be highly harmonious with the items on the. menu. I. would certainly recommend it .... especially. for confirmed oyster enthusiasts.

Nous aurions aimé que les huîtres soient accompagnées de pain de seigle ou de pain complet plutôt que de pain blanc..hormis ce petit détail, les produits sont frais et excellents.

I am an experienced oyster eater; I have always scraped the remaining muscle off with the oyster. The host here is very willing to instruct or answer any questions. Helped me in my selection of oysters and was not intrusive. However, his belief that only pepper should be paired with oysters is just that-his belief. Not everyone has the same taste buds. I frequently eat my oysters without embellishment, but also prefer having the option of using a mignonette sauce. Lemon is the only option here, and that was disappointing. The oysters were very good, but they are very good in many places in Paris. The smoked salmon was as good as the host said it was. The sea snails were huge, and an experience I am happy not to repeat, but my husband enjoyed them. It would be easy to spend a lot of money here, but we stuck with a dozen oysters and the salmon, shrimp & snails dish. I had a bowl of the fish soup, which was very good. A half liter of wine was sufficient for us. $113 USD was a reasonable price for the two of us.
