Excellent food. Beautiful atmosphere. The food was probably a bit on the salty side but very high quality

We booked Ormeggio for (late) Sunday lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It's such a perfect spot - every table has a view of the water and the boats. The new decor was lovely but best of all was the food. We had the Chef's Picks menu (a 7 course tasting menu) which was simply delicious. So many different flavours and everything so fresh and tasty. Staff were lovely – attentive and friendly, happy to explain the menu and generally upbeat. Wonderful meal in a lovely location - can't recommend highly enough!

Ormeggio is an absolutely cracking restaurant in the most amazing setting. It’s right on the waters edge with superb views and sunset is just beautiful. The food is sooo delicious and the staff friendly but super efficient. It is expensive, so this is our go to place for special occasions but it never fails to delight.

We have dined here many times over the ten years of Ormeggio. The standard of food and service is always excellent. The food is always interesting and the menus changes so that each time we dine it is a surprise. We enjoyed the 5 course 'stress-less Sunday' degustation. every course was fabulous and great value. Keep up the fine work, Alessandro and team!

Everything was really great, I really loved the atmosphere and service while dining in. However the food was over-seasoned to our taste; which we already mentioned to the server that we would want the food to be ‘less salty’, to the level where it completely killed our appetite and even made us feel sick. I did experienced the fine quality of food, but I really hope that it would not be so salty the next time I visit there.

Excellent service, as usual, from the team at Ormeggio. We were really impressed by the quality of the food that was presented and by the thoughtfulness of the menu prepared by the chef. Would really recommend Ormeggio to anyone who's looking for a really nice meal out.

About the restaurant

Chefs Making Waves

Nestled into the outrageously gorgeous Spit marina in Mosman is Ormeggio, where the dishes are anything but ordinary. Ormeggio's chefs are making waves in the harbour, and Sydney’s foodies are taking note. With an innovative menu that harnesses creative techniques and unique combinations to reinvent Italian cuisine, you’ll be delighted by the interesting take on food that is as much art as gastronomy. Ormeggio is an exciting destination for curious foodies looking for an awe inspiring moment, not just a meal. This is modern innovation at its best, where the food is not outdone by the stunning backdrop.

Best dish: burnt eggplant tortellini with spicy pistachio and Pyengana cheddar foam
