Fantastic experience! We each had a different tasting menu and added the wine pairings. So delicious and we thought a really good value as well! The pacing of the meal was perfect and the staff was excellent and helped us through even though our German speaking is pretty poor... What a great time! Highly recommend!

As a first, the paprika gazpacho with raspberries was just amazing, in combination with a rosé that made a nice combination . I must say I did not like the main, a cantrel risotto much too oily to my taste - I had trouble digesting it. A cheese plate with a glass of excellent Spätburgunder saved the meal.

Oskar was a delightful find. One block away from the main tourist streets, so much less noisy than many town restaurants. Inside, the restaurant was much bigger than its frontage suggested. Decor is simple, the wine list extensive. We had a delicious meal beautifully cooked and presented. Staff were attentive without being intrusive.

The owner/manager was friendly and helpful but the waiter attending us most of the time did not seem very motivated. In between another waiter enthused about the wine we chose - much more what I expect of a wine bar/restaurant. The food was really good. We had Asian tuna and succulent pork after gazpacho as a starter. The Sauvignon blanc was excellent.

Oskar is my favorite restaurant when I come to Heidelberg. The food is always delicious, fresh, unique and high quality. The wine is also excellent! I had the special four course spring menu, and it was Fantastic! I enjoyed octopus salad and beef tartare followed by fish and dessert, and all courses were matched with super wine pairings. I highly recommend enjoying the wine pairings with your courses. Nadine is so wonderful, I always enjoy seeing her and Franziska is also amazing. Everyone who works there is a pure delight! I will be right back soon!

This place is excellent, for the quality of the food and service, and it is a bit away from the crowded part of Heidelberg where all tourists are. Fresh products (raw tuna, salad, mozarella, gnocchi) and real home made sauces. The recommendation of wine for each dish is a plus. We were eating outside as it is Summer, but the rooms inside look great and it is probably a nice atmosphere in the Winter too.

There is a sense of freshness about Oskar. Its food is fresh; one can sense the freshness of the ingredients; the warm reception one gets from the staff is fresh; the decor is fresh and through an entire evening, I could sense nothing that I would consider jaded or jarring. I came out, feeling fresh and refreshed. Strongly recommended for those who wish to sense a different kind of top restaurant - with five star food and wines- but without five star pretensions!
