Unfortunately there was building constructions ongoing opposite and next to the Osteria. the meat quality of the Bistecca Fiorentina was not as good as in other places. The service was friendly and fast

We had dinner last night at this restaurant being close to where we were staying. Whilst we had a lovely night, this was due to the company and service received. And the chianti was definitely enjoyable. Unfortunately the Florentine bistecca was not so. We asked for it to be cooked so very little pink but it was basically rare. This made the steak quite chewy. So disappointing indeed at 50 euros per kg with a 1.2kg steak. The sides were fine and unfortunately 3 desserts out of 7 weren't available either. As I said the service was lovely, just let down by the food.

So glad we chose this Osteria, it is a beautiful little restaurant & the staff are extremely friendly & attentive. The food was exceptional - the steak was mouthwateringly tender & cooked to perfection & the fusilli with pesto was absolutely delicious. If you choose to dine here you will not be disappointed! Thank you Osteria Catarina for a lovely evening!!!

I considered not leaving a review but this is our experience and it bag help others- and may be reflective of the industry in general (but this has not been our experience). We have eaten at many Italian restaurants and relied heavily on the menu identifying allergens. My daughter has anaphylaxis to peanuts. She Ate pesto for lunch that day with no issues (pesto is typically made only with pine nuts which she is not allergic). We Ordered a pesto pasta for dinner here (allergen 5 not listed on the menu) and she had an immediate reaction requiring an emergency hospital admission. This was Very stressful to navigate in a foreign country where you don’t know the language. The Restaurant could see we were distressed- we sought to take away the meal I ordered (papadelle ragu- 2 mouthfuls I ate were AMAZING!) but then, no doubt in their keenness to have us leave ( I hope to get medical attention) charged us (only I guess) for the 2 drinks we didn’t finish and the coperto (!) and kept the meal. Told us we shouldn’t be ordering pesto-based meals- which I guess is true if they can’t guarantee safety with cross-contamination. I encourage them to add ‘5’ (peanuts) to their menu with pesto dishes. Such a shame as the restaurant came recommended and sitting outside in the gentle rain was lovely while it lasted. Highly recommend the local public hospital for emergency treatment- luckily very close and very skilled!

Came highly recommended and did not disappoint. English speaking waiter was very helpful. Had the prosciutto and melon, pizza, pasta with truffle, caprese salad and a local steak- all excellent. Would definitely return

The restaurant aggressively upsold the food and wine, but delivered overpriced and mediocre food and wine. The wine in particular was 50% more expensive on the bill than the menu - because it was 'an old menu'.

It will be much easy to read if adding grapes content/mix of the wine in the menu for customer to choose. Steak is cooked more than request. Steak texture will be better if not that "rough".

We wanted to try traditional Tuscany foods and this restaurant is perfect for that. All the foods we tried were wonderful and so tasty. The Staff was knowledgeable, kind and patient with our questions about the menu.

Everything was good! House wine superb… For the antipasti we tried the Burrata that was awesomw… Steaks for dinner were the best that I’ve taste in a long time… Highly recommended!
