10/10Getting there was difficult because of the long dirt road but it is my understanding that there is nothing that can be done about it despite numerous efforts by the location. So the question is was the trouble worth the effort? The collective conclusion of the four attending was a resounding yes! The restaurant is very nice and the grounds are breath taking. The food was very good. We had the gnudi , ribollita, duck boar ragú and lamb(?) cheeks. All we very good, the wine, our reason for coming in the first place, was excellent. The service was very good and attentive. They were fluent in English, Spanish and of course Italian.

REGIONAL CUISINE: Osteria La Canonica is located in Il Borgo, the heart of Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco resort. In this convivial and tasteful atmosphere, melded in wood and wrought iron, seasonal produce from the organic kitchen garden is combined with local, fresh ingredients to create traditional Tuscan dishes and delicious pizzas from open-view wood-fired oven.
SPECIALTIES TO TRY: Pici pasta with cheese and bread crumbles, Tuscan soup with black cabbage, Swordfish “alla Livornese”, pizza “cretese” with tomato, pecorino cheese, bacon and onion, pizza “toscana” with tomato, mozzarella cheese, cured ham and spinach.
