Very good
We arrived at this little restaurant quite a bit early for our booking but we were welcomed in and seated at our table. The decor was delightfully vintage and with a very warm atmosphere. We were six in our party and most of us chose the special dish of either chicken meatballs in a delicious white sauce or a ham wrapped chicory (endive) in a cheese sauce. All dishes served with fries and salad. Onion soup as a starter was absolutely divine. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience here of which the food played a key role. I would love to return here as it was off the beaten tourist track and just lovely.
Good food, friendly and prompt service. A neighborhood gem.
Fabulous garden on a sweltering hot August evening. Excellent food not sure about value for money as not got anything else in Bruges to compare it to. Not cheap but really good mussels and chips.
Nice little restaurant. Excellent food. The owner was very pleasant and welcoming. Highly recommend to book in advance as it was clearly popular.
Adorable, authentic restaurant that is off the beaten path. The food was delicious—we had the ribs and the chicken. The portions are quite plentiful. Service was exemplary.
Lovely restaurant, the Flemish style asparagus was very very tasty, and the Flemish beef stew was delicious for a Chinese like me, cause it tastes very close to Chinese beef stew. Will be back to the restaurant next time in Bruges.
A very cool local experience at this quaint place a few minutes walk off the beaten track away from the main tourist area. Food was delicious and authentic, service was great and a good price.
Amazing experience, charming host, delicious Flemish food, beautiful setting- no tourists!! It’s almost sad to write as I know it will be ruined by hordes of tourists - but I guess it has survived continuously since 1664 - so I am sure it will endure. The ribs and Flemish stew were incredible
Fantastic meal. Great food and setting. Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.
Restaurant traditionnel qui ne nous a pas déçu.
The food was not bad, but service so and so, the waitress had preference for everyone just not for us, I don't know why, maybe because we had a child 3 years old (we booked the table for 2 adults + 1 child) and used English, not Dutch
Oud Handbogenhof
Dear sir , madam the food was not bad but you gave a 4 ???? Lucky you did not eat bad !!
Simple mais efficace !!!
Lovely, genuine welcoming restaurant. Delicious food.
White asparagus was sublime, and the ribs divine (but huge so not for those with a smaller appetite!) What an amazing job this husband and wife team do ...and just the two of them. Highly recommended for both food and ambience.
have already reviewed on tripadvisor
Out of the way and a 15 minute walk from our hotel, but really worth it. Good food, good service and reasonably quiet. If you like your restaurants big and noisy then this isn't for you. There are only a few tables, so at busy times it would be a good idea to book in advance.
Simple and awesome food ! Very authentic.
Away from the tourist spots a very nice place with great food.
Wonderful, authentic place for a great Belgian dinner!
Despite living in and around Bruges all my life, it was thanks to Forks we discovered this wonderful historic restaurant for the first time. Loved the food and the atmosphere and good service. Will definitely be coming back.
Food was so amazing! Best meal we had in Bruges. And the ambiance feels really authentic. Definitely off the beaten path, and far away from the tourist traps. Worth the visit!!!
Delicious dinner!!!
Awesome food amazing evening
Excellent evening. Would recommend. Proper Flemmish setting and menu. We had a wonderful time
Very delicious food, traditional but not old fashioned. The dining atmosphere in the old building was very nice, too. There were only two tables of guests for a Monday evening, but the service was warm-hearted yet not too much of being annoying!
This was the most authentic meal we had in Bruges. The atmosphere is quirky but relaxing and the food was first rate. Recommended.
