Incredible food and great service, strongly recommend! Host is super friendly multilingual guy, mussels in white vine sauce just over the top, tomato soup also was delicious.
Had mussels in beer sauce & the mussels linguine. Great intro to mussels in Belgium for us. tasted great and the fries were done to perfection. Not the really thin McD type stripes. They were non-greasy, crispy on the outside and just like proper triple cooked chips. Highly recommended.
Small restaurant but top-ranking mussel dishes. It's the best dining experience. Waiter, bartender and chef seem to be the same person and he's quite busy.
Mussels in white wine were very delicious. Seasoning was neatly done, you can tell from the smell. Atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Would not bother to go to another place without a doubt! Next time I want to try different options from the menu. Thanks!
Very nice cosy restaurant, the best mussels in my life. As mentioned on TripAdvisor it’s really place for mussels. The restaurant must visit next to the window was amazing view
My Belgian friend and I (USA) enjoyed a hot hot summer evening at the coveted window at Petit Maxim's - which I would say is the best seat in the house. We had the Truffle Cream Mussels and the Croquettes de Crevettes. This also came with some lovely brioche bread, and a little tapa of their asparagus soup. Everything, from the food to the view to the beer pairing, was spectacular.
Lovely place with great food! If you get to sit at the window this place makes you feel like you're in Paris. The beef stew menu is great and the owner, who's throwing the entire place by himself, is very capable and makes a great host. On top of that the place is affordable!Petit Maxim
Dear our guest Lisa, thanks a lot for your review, we are really appreciate this! And we hope to see u next time. It’s very important for us to receive such great review from you!
This restaurant offer a great asparagus soup, one of the best I ever eat! Mussels were really tasty but the french fries wasn't that good, for a Belgium restaurant and the portion was also very small...
We got totally mislead by the TripAdvisor rating. The place was uncharming, smelly, with only with waiter apparently helping in the kitchen too but worst of all the food. Si disappointing to be eating frozen fries in Belgium and at that price!
Great restaurant for classic Flemish cuisine. We were shown to our table immediately, and our host even managed to find a space in the packed restaurant for us to park our baby stroller. The menu offers the typical traditional foods one finds in almost every Flemish restaurant here (mussels, cheese or shrimp croquettes, beef stew, etc.) But I appreciated that Petit Maxim offered different choices of sauce for the mussels, from the traditional to the exotic and inspired.
Amazing one man show and food was delicious.
We visited Petit Maxim to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were well looked after and the food was excellent. My wife had a Thai prwan and coocunut soup to start and I had the snails. For mains we both had the Beer Beef Stew - an excellent dinner all round.
Top local food especially mussels in white wine sauce and truffle sauce, and tender Flemish beef stew. Definitely I can recommend this place for everyone. Better book the table before.
Cosy, little restaurant in the heart of Bruge - I was greeted upon entering and straightforward directed to my table. The mussels with white wine sauce were very good and a large portion, accompanied by fries and a small asparagus soup as amuse gueule. I really liked the atmosphere and the food and would definitely go again!
Great valuefor money with the set menu
The best place in Brugge, thanks for the chef Danylo and his wife for great service. The food was amazing and delicious, I had beef stew and asparagus soup from special menu, and it was best beef in my life. Definitely I will recommend this place. And by the way tour guide told me that here they serve best mussels in town but I don’t like mussels I’m allergic. But I believe that everything is perfect here.
We had a lovely evening. The menu was delicious. The room looks like a bar but it is a high class restaurant. The chef made everything from drinks to the meal by himself.
Flemish beef stew . Mussels with truffle and asparagus soup it’s something unbelievable tasty. And take a note that it’s small restaurant like in Paris and book table before, it was very busy at that time we Went. I can recommend this place
They did not have our reservation but we were offered the two seats by the front windows. The food was excellent, made with care. Flemish stew and seafood pasta were both delicious. Highly recommended!
Discovered on The Fork, a small and comfortable restaurant suitable for couple dinners. Traditional Belgian cuisine, few dishes but well made. Very good is the white asparagus soup and the mussels, which surely taste of the sea. The suction hoods could work better, you come out with an unpleasant smell on your clothes.
The restaurant was warm and welcoming. The food was local and of good quality would definitely recommend a visit. The only down side was when we came out of the restaurant all our clothes smelt badly of cooked/fried food
Fantastic food (especially the asparagus soup) and great service
Excellent position in Bruges and individual tables for dining unlike most bench style eating in the city. Great food and service! Asparagus soup was particularly good.
Xcellent food and the staff were terrific. The free amuse-bouche of asparagus soup was very good. Strongly recommended
Excellent food and service very friendly
Food was good and decent value for money. On the night we attended there seemed to be confusion about whether it was all a set menu or whether a la carte was also available. Mussels are not listed on the menu but are available in several different preparations “according to the sign out front”; we were advised after we had placed our food order that “the white wine is finished “ and thus not available. Several other tables got this news, but then Chardonnay was offered by the glass. Odd. These small things are a bit frustrating and could be communicated more succinctly with less stress for both the service staff and the clients. Overall good but not exceptional.
What a great restaurant. The food was fresh and very well prepared. Generous portion sizes, friendly service and good value. The wine list was also a good balance between choice, quality and value.
Food was delicious, beautifully presented and very reasonably priced for the set menu. Chef was also front of house and very friendly. Restaurant makes the most of the lovely views with open window seating. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Bruges!
