A rare pearl among our careful selection of the best addresses right now

Siamo a due passi dalla Mole Antonelliana, in un locale aperto agli inizi del 2005. Due graziose salette con i mattoni in bella a vista e le volte a botte, tavoli ben distanziati con tovaglie bianche lunghe fino a terra, copri seggiola in stoffa bianca pure lei, illuminazione discreta… insomma un bell’ambiente elegante ma soft. Lo hanno voluto e creato Diego Luparello e la moglie Valentina Sacco, lui esprime la sua creatività e professionalità in cucina, lei vi accudisce con gentilezza e altrettanta professionalità in sala. Diego definisce la sua cucina mediterranea con forti influenze piemontesi e una grande cura nei dettagli. Di fatto trovate in carta piatti di carne e di pesce a unire e compenetrare le due anime. Pane, grissini, pasta e dolci sono tutti fatti in casa, ad iniziare dalla splendida pasticceria salata che accompagnerà il vostro aperitivo.

E poi, tra gli antipasti, buttatevi tranquillamente sulla Scaloppa di foie gras con pere al profumo di sauternes, vela di pane guttiau e caramello di aceto balsamico, oppure sull’Insalata tiepida di polpo e fagioli cannellini al profumo di paprika con crema di patate. Primi piatti: Crema di fagioli borlotti, ravioli di zucca e colatura di mandorle al timo; Fusilli freschi di spinaci con ragù di pescatrice, pinoli e limone su crema di zafferano, ma meritano attenzione anche i Tortelli ai carciofi e toma di Lanzo al tartufo nero su passatina di ceci. Passiamo ai secondi:Composizione di piccione, foie gras e cuore di carciofo; Baccalà con vellutata di cime di rapa, crumble di taralli, pinoli e uvetta e profumo allo zafferano. Gran finale con Delizia al cioccolato bianco e lamponi con gelato al mirto, oppure Martin sech al Barolo con gelato alla cannella. Il menù cambia quattro volte l’anno seguendo le stagioni. Sono presenti anche due menù degustazione. Carta dei vini sterminata, si parla di 350 etichette prevalentemente nazionali, con gran rilievo per Piemonte e Toscana, ma non manca una bella selezione di Champagne.

    This was a fantastic meal! While family owned, this is not your standard home cooking, but a unique, delicious, exquisite dining experience. Don't miss it! The food is carefully prepared and served; each dish lovingly made to perfection. Amuse bouche and prosecco are offered upon arrival. Great wine list.

    We decided to book a meal for a special occasion at Picolo Lord, having walked past a few times and spotted the Michelin endorsement on the wall outside. On arrival you feel like coming into a friends house, it's a welcoming cosy interior and very typically Piedmontese in decor and style. Our coats were taken, stored and we were led to the table. We were given a very good glass of Prosecco to settle in with and a light welcome snack. The wine list was immersive and very balanced on price (Barbera Superior 2015 = €28) Then came the food - we had the 5 course tasting menu which was exquisite and very creative - every other plate that came out was also looking amazing. There were 3 extremely well drilled, professional and attentive members of staff running the whole show and their synergy was clearly apparent, later on the Chef came from table to table to check on each guest. Coffees, Amaro and chocs to finish up a great meal. All-in-all a top choice.

    Amazing home made bread/breadsticks and pasta. By the end of the dinner, the chef himself came at our table to make sure everything was ok. Definitely worth the visit!

    Food was ok, sadly not memorable. Service was efficient, except for a lack of attention to details such as keeping water glasses filled and asking us whether we enjoyed our meal, or checking in on us after we'd started. It was too hot in there for us to last for longer than we did (2 courses), it felt as if the aircon was off? The sturgeon was nothing to write home about, and the pork filet was slightly dry. A sauce may have helped here, and not just what was dotted around the plate, as the mash it was served on doesn't help the dryness. The flavours on this dish were the best though. The veal was rather chewy unfortunately, and could've been more pink, but the sauce was good. The homemade breads were great, as were the little savoury treats! A nice touch offering a glass of Prosecco on the house to start with:-)

    Excellent food, inventive and creative chef. Great flavours, well managed portion sizes. Good selection of wine. Little extras help to enhance the whole dining experience. I have been to Michelin Starred restaurants and the food at Piccolo Lord compares very favourably in my view. Italian cooking at its highest.

    We went to this restaurant as we wanted to try a tasting menu. We ordered the 8 course menu at €55 each, which was the best constructed menu either of us have ever eaten, and paired it with a bottle of local Barberesco from the extensive wine menu of over 300 wines. The service was excellent and the food perfect. We spoke to the chef for about 20 minutes at the end of the evening, he was very knowledgeable and engaging.

    Fantastic meal to celebrate our engagement! Highlights were the pistachio crusted lamb, scallops with coconut and the venison ravioli! Lovely wait staff and complimentary tastings added to a lovely experience

    We are a famil of 5 (2 adults and 3 children's aged 4, 8, 10). The environment is cosy. Wonderful services is offered in no doubt. The homemade bread is offered in variety flabours from wheat, dried tomatoes, potatoes, ham and chestnuts. All were nice. We ordered 3 appetizers and 4 main course. Appetizers are (1) veal tartare with foie gras (2) stuffed baby squid and (3) salami and sausage rolls. The veal tartare and foie gras is wonderful. Highly recommended. Stuffed baby squid was also good. Main courses (1) pasta with egg yorks and white truffle - value for money, both my husband and girl love it (2) lobsters with mint pea cream with puffed pastry (3) braised beef - very tender and juicy - also recommended (4) duck leg. Overall value for money. Will go back again

    We had the 5 course tasting menu which was preceded by a glass of prosecco and 2 free titbits. Also gorgeous bread. This was the best meal we had in 9 nights of good meals.

    Incredible! So simple yet so fulfilling. The staff was great and took the time to explain each dish and recommended some great wine pairings as well. The chef greets each customer and walks them through the menu as well as thanks them at the end of the meal. Looking forward to dining with Piccolo Lord during my next trip to Torino!

    If you are ever in Turin and have just one meal out - make it this place. We had the 5 course tasting Menu and it was superb - every course plus other little extras added. It was not cheap ingredients either - Veal , Foie Gras , Scampi , etc - at an amazingly cheap price for the quality. The service, presentation, etc were top class - no wonder it is Michelin listed . Can't wait to go back if I am ever in Turin again

LA CUCINA – Dietro ai fornelli ci sono i due chef Diego e Valentina. Hanno elaborato un menù basato su specialità di terra e di mare preparate con materie prime di ottima qualità. L’influenza piemontese si percepisce in ogni piatto.
