Fabulous venue. With a cracking atmosphere. Dutch restaurant with really good food. The starters , meatballs and prawns were both superb. The Steak and salmon were also really good , tasty , succulent and well presented. . Washed down with a Bottle of amazing Malbec. Fabulous place . Make sure You book

Very atmospheric place for having a great stake. We tried classic beef which was great, however the speciality of the speciality of the house is horse ???? stakes. Stake comes with complementary fresh salad and fries. Desserts are very tasty.

Good quality food, fun staff and a small noisy space, combined together, create a very lively atmosphere and make this restaurant what it is. Our food was very good, but we had a fun time surrounded by many large groups ( mainly young men) also having a great time. This venue didn’t appear to be the place you came for a quiet meal or intimate chat. If there is a complaint it’s that we had to wait quite sometime between our stater and main course, most probably due to the large groups ahead. Some would be offended by the deliberate attempt to get a service tip, but on this occasion we were happy to oblige having enjoyed a fun evening

The food here was wonderful. Unbeknownst to me, the specialty of the restaurant is horse meat. I have never been one to turn down the opportunity to try something new, so I went with the staff recommendation of horse tenderloin with red wine sauce. The meat was incredibly tender and full of flavor while the sauce was well prepared, decadent, and flavorful. Other entrees at the table were the spare ribs, and beef tenderloin with peri peri seasoning/sauce. Both of those options were equally delicious.

The service was very good, but with one or two little hiccups, which were promptly rectified when we reported the missing items. Staff were very friendly, with a good sense of humour, and we had a good rapport with them. The restaurant was quite busy, and being rather small, therefore quite noisy, but that is to be expected, and unavoidable, I suppose. Very enjoyable evening, with terrific food (I had the deliciously tender and tasty horse steak, followed by a very yummy crème brûlée). Very much recommended.

Typical brown Cafe-esque interior, great attentive and funny staff...made me nostalgic for longing back to Amsterdam as I knew it 20+ years ago. Food was really good, beautiful wine selection ???????????? walked out with Abba still blasting through the restaurant' speakers

We went there because of the mostly raving reviews on here but were disappointed. We may have been there on the wrong day, but it was extremely busy and very noisy. On top of that staff was very good at avoiding eye contact, so we had to wait more than half an hour after being seated before we got any attention of staff again. We found our starters, Paling on toast and Gebakken mosseltjes, to be somewhat bland in taste, but our mains, both had the calf's liver, were okay, although they were floating in grease. We skipped dessert and even coffee, and just paid the bill, which was as we expected. Obviously this review is based on one single visit and I do believe in second chances, but in this case I think we will leave at the one visit.
