Our group of 7 spent our last night in Sicily at this festive, inviting restaurant. The staff were attentive and the atmosphere is lively and festive. The menu includes toward palatable Americanized choices such as spaghetti and meatballs, and Tito's Vodka. All our dishes were prepared well and food was delicious.

It was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. Service was terrible. Main course came out 30 minutes apart and the pizza was cold and burned. There were other guests visibly unhappy around us as well. The reason why their reviews are so high is because they have their weight staff encourage the customer to submit a review at the table.

We dined at this restaurant a couple of times during our recent visit to Taormina. The location is great and there are often people waiting to get in (7/7:30 starts to get busy). The food is really good and fairly priced. The mussels and several of the pasta dishes are great. We took cannoli making and pizza making classes here, as well. They were a blast !!! Shout out to Jackie/Francesca who is a fun-loving, patient, and expert cooking instructor. This place is well worth the visit !

Restaurant is a tourist trap, many fake profiles here and very expensive for the quality. It was very disappointing tonight, one of the lowest in Sicily. Tomato without flavor, ultra salty pasta. Sorry but I do not recommend tourists to go there. There are others much better in Taormina. 3 songs and it's over

Whilst the food was good, the service was lacking. Employees didn’t seem to like their job and were not friendly. Asking for the bill took just under half an hour.

The Margherita pizza came with no basil. Fried Arancini ice cold in the middle. Croquettes as bland as sawdust. The waiter seemed annoyed from the start and never came back to the table to check on the food or drinks the entire time. The restaurant was moderately busy and there were cooking classes going on in the dining room during dinner service, with various people walking in and out of the kitchen and all over the place. We finally had to ask the busboy for our check(twice), our waiter finally came to our table for payment, didn’t ask how our dinner was or wish us well. We came close to walking out. We should have. It was the most ridiculous restaurant experience we have ever had.

Awful food and service. Worst food we ate in Taormina this week. Beef was burnt and tasteless. Cocktails were extremely small for their price and also tasted bad. The staff was confused, it seemed that they didn’t know what they have to do. We waited a long time for our order, the food arrived cold and then we waited even more for the check. Awful experience, will definitely not return. Taormina has lots of good restaurants, unfortunately Porta Messina is not one of them.

A great restaurant on a corner in town. The seating was lovely and the food was delicious. Our drinks and starters came fast and mains were right on time. We would definitely recommend.
