En Consolat del Mar, muy cerca de la playa de la Barceloneta, encontramos este restaurante sui generis que a priori nos sorprende por su ubicación: un local consagrado en exclusiva al cerdo en un barrio que ha sido tradicionalmente la cuna de la cocina marinera en Barcelona. Pero las reglas están para romperlas, y más si quienes deciden darle la vuelta al mapa gastronómico son dos personas que las conocen muy bien. Nada menos que Iñaki López de Viñaspre, alma mater del Grupo Sagardi, y Oriol Rovira, cocinero de Els Casals (Estrella MICHELIN 2007), artífice de los embutidos de Cal Rovira y uno de los máximos exponentes en la ciudad de la cocina de proximidad basada en la ganadería local.

Si en Sagàs (su restaurante de bocadillos gourmet), Rovira ya nos mostraba su amor por las carnes locales, en este restaurante el homenajeado es en exclusiva el cerdo: desde el morro al rabo, curado, en salazón, al horno de leña, seco, embutido, prensado, especiado o rustido. Cerdos que proceden de la explotación familiar de la familia Rovira en el Berguedà o la dehesa de Extremadura, pasando por Baleares, León, La Rioja, Lombardía o el condado de Bigorra en el sudoeste francés.

    What a great experience! It was my wife's birthday, so we wanted to try something new. It was a quiet Wednesday, and we were greeted by a very friendly server.The next server was really patient with us as we made up our mind. A few items are sold by weight, and we didn't know what some of the other items were, so there was a little learning curve. The restaurant is a farm to table concept, focusing on the pig. You can tell that all the ingredients were top quality as well as the preparation. If you are used to all your pork being slathered in American style BBQ sauce, you might be disappointed. Otherwise, this restaurant does a fine job of showcasing pork in a natural way that allows you to enjoy the intrinsic flavour. We enjoyed an appetizer of stilton cheese with some of the best chorizo we ever had. Followed by ribs, belly, au gratin potatoes and salad. All expertly done! Finally, the server came with complimentary cava and chocolate truffles to make this birthday one to remember. Can't wait to go back!

    The service was fantastic and outdoor eating area was pleasant. The food was average, the pork belly did not have crackling, the shoulder was dry, the pulled pork rolls were good as the had some sauce, the vegetables were not appetising and over cooked

    Food is good although very expensive with respect to what you get. The restaurant is cosy and well decored. What quite disappoiting is how food is served. Drinks, starters and main course are all served at the same time and fast. As if they wish you ate quick and go.

    Seriously this place serves the BEST PORK that I’ve ever had. Friendly welcoming waitstaff. Food was absolutely delicious ???? and the side dishes perfectly complimented the pork. Nice wine Selection served at the right temperature . We enjoyed our meals so much that we ate here twice ????????

    We had an amazing meal; great atmosphere, super friendly staff and delicious pork! The fact that you can choose the part of the pork and the amount adds extra points (however, we ordered way too much because it looked so delicious :) ). We recommend it for sure and would definately come back in a next visit to barcelona!

El restaurante Pork es una auténtica "locura" dedicada al solo cerdo, del hocico al rabo, curado, en salazón y sobre todo al horno de leña "I-rational". Así es PORK, boig per tu! Un concepto gastronómico y un gran tributo a la calidad de este producto único e irrepetible de la cultura mediterránea. La alianza de dos familias dedicadas y entrelazadas en el amor a los productos tradicionales, Viñaspre y Rovira. Lideradas por Iñaki y Oriol, las dos familias se han volcado en este proyecto para realizar un espacio que nace desde la cría del cerdo, su cuidado, alimentación y transformación para asegurar la trazabilidad hasta la mesa de Pork, boig per tu!
