10/10Geweldige eet ervaring. Het was een culinair feestje. Met recht een Michelin ster restaurant. Klassiek diner met alleen verse top gerechten. Een dikke aanrader

9.3/10Went to the Posthoorn Restaurant two nights ago, and had a wonderful evening. The 5 Gang Menu was not only delicious, it was fascinating! And the service could not have been better. This restaurant is a real "find". Also the wines offered are excellent. Will certainly be going back to this excellent restaurant.

9.8/10I cannot recommend this place more. Normally when you go to a "chic" place to eat, one course in a multiple course meal stands out from the rest. Not at Posthoorn in Monnickendam. Every course was impeccable, delicious and memorable. Simple exquisite and perfect combinations of ingredients, so many culinary techniques used, and so much expertise evident. We had 5 courses as well as the wine arrangement - which was excellent. If you want a special evening out - go here!

9.5/10Dining at Posthoorn is always a wonderful experience and very much worthwhile crossing the IjTunnel from Amsterdam. The amuses between every course alone is worth the trip. A wonderful surprise was the boneless chicken wings between course served with a very refined orange and curcuma sauce. The beef filet which came as the main course was perfectly executed and was accompanied by an unusual croquette ball of blood sausage and rectangular potato gnocchi. There were two sets of desserts. The first was a creme brulee with a scoop of ice cream accompanied by a bowl of aragula, radish, and fennel salad with grated cheese and goat cheese dressing. The second dessert course was a painterly composition of marinated pineapple chunk, cheese cake, cinnamon bavarois and enhanced by a wonderful tarragon sauce. Truly, every dish is to be cherished. A remark from one previous reviewer was that too many things were happening on a plate, however, every thing had it's own particular flavor that was so bewitching to the palate. In one word, a fantastic kitchen in quaint Monnickendam!

8.5/10We had a lovely evening at Posthoorn, with the Goupon deal. We were treated nicely, service was tops. The food started off superb but the main course of pork and the cheese course were not as good as the other courses - in fact, a bit disappointing. Especially the cheese course. There was a lovely cheese cart that we were interested in but instead got a prepared warm cheese dish. If they had only let us know, we would have gladly paid a bit extra to get the cheese cart service! Overall though, a gracious and lovely evening.

6.8/10What could be nicer? The service! Attention to detail was non-exisitent in Posthoorn: two gentlemen watched on as the ladies in our party struggled out of their jackets, the male washrooms were unpleasant even early in the evening, having the service staff forget to serve the wine before the dishes were brought out (then having to witness the arguments in the kitchen that such slip-ups were causing over the course of the evening), no offer of a substitution if a particular wine in the 6-course arrangment was not to our liking. In short, no effort from the staff to make it a memorable evening for our party. The food was good (though not particularly creative). Everyone is allowed an off night, I suppose.
